Is there such an afterlife as “valhalla”?

Just wondering, I have a friend at work who believes in this: He says as far as soldiers go, like people who serve in World war 2 or people fighting in combat, If they die or get slain during war, they don’t go to Heaven or Hell? They go to a place called “Valhalla”??? Would you believe in that? Like my question says: Is there such an afterlife as “Valhalla” for soldiers and people slain in the line of combat?

You wouldn't want to go to Valhalla. When Ragnarok comes around you'd be wishing you were at basically any other afterlife

Plus you can't take any of the gold items with you when you leave.

That is what our forefathers believed. Although I am a Christian, I would like to imagine it to be true. I want to imagine my fallen Anglo-Saxon warrior forebears found glory with their German brothers in Odin's mighty hall, or on Freja's great meadow.

None of us know for certain what happens after death. There are a variety of religions that explain it; it's just a matter of self faith.

Wouldnt it be nice if every religion was true.

      Atheists just stop existing lol.

For some reason I imagined this as *poof!* and all the atheists ceasing to exist.

There are times where I consider that possibility. The pagan religions would have a variety of different afterlifes on their own.

Other than Valhalla, there's also Hel...which is ruled over by Hel.

Who knows? Within the half second of death perhaps you live your hearts desire until you fade and die.

Really hope for that heaven thing though. As an agonstic, I'd perfer if theres an afterlife. An existance of nonexistence isnt pleasing.

Norse mythology was badass. Then again having a culture completly committed to having to die in combat to get into "heaven" was destined to be overcome by another religion who's heaven bar was lower.
