Is it a normal thing for her to do this?
Andrew's doing pretty good, I took him out in his stroller last week with my sister, and her poodle, Dewey Ray, in his new stroller that I bought for him. Dewey is twelve years old, and he had diabetic attack this summer that left him blind now he has to be on insulin shots twice a day for life.
Perfectly normal cat behaviour.
The head-rubbing is her scent-marking you. I doubt if many humans can detect the odours - I know I can't - but cats have scent glands on their cheeks
My cat hears my keys and starts meowing like a desperate hooker, demands I pick her up and gives me love for 5 seconds, then runs over to her food and begs for tuna, which I give her because now I'm the desperate hooker wanting more love.
