I strategically place spiders around the house and observe them as they build their forts to keep the bugs out. Sometimes I feed them extra bugs to grow bigger. I got quite a few new egg sacks I am excited for to hatch. I have different kinds of spiders too. The orb weavers are doing good but I just saw the hobo spiders died.
Normal for an eccentric maybe, but good for you.

I used to put moths and butterflies in spider webs all the time. I never raised and observed them, but hey, sounds like you enjoy it. Keep at it!
I haven't gone that far, but I occasionally feed the spiders that I find around the house.
The main downside is that trying to avoid disturbing them makes cleaning difficult.
It sounds fun. Just be sure to know what kind of spiders you are dealing with.
That's cool except what I'll do is kill lizard/frogs/birds I shot with my air rifle and throw the carcasses in an ant pile in my backyard. Not lieing when saying that it's big enough to consume a full grown chihuahua in less then a day leaving behind cleanly picked bone.
Sad part is if I stop feeding they will starve to death but they will only eat a fresh kill preferably still twitching
