Is this bullying?

I work at a tech lab where we work with WiFi signal devices and recently we received a new employee. He is a Catholic and his office space was immediately adorned with rosaries, crucifixes and bible quotes in frames. He doesn't talk about his religion but we see the artifacts when we pass by his office space.

The problem is that most of us are atheists and a lot of my co-workers have taken offense to the artifacts. Some of them have been taking it upon themselves to to walk by and accidentally catch or bump the artifacts so they fall and break. During lunch breaks, the few times he did sit with us, they spoke to each other loudly about the molestation of altar boys and who fucked the Virgin Mary. A lot of them have even started putting up posters of the evolutionary process and printing out snippets from atheist pages on facebook and just posting them around the office.

At first, I thought it was fucking hilarious but now I'm starting to wonder if this is bullying or not?

    That is bullying. I think your co-worker was sort of putting himself out there by adorning his desk with all that stuff but, who knows, maybe it helps him cope a bit. Y'know, some familiar stuff to help him settle.

    By deliberately making him uncomfortable just because you don't like his religion is an asshole move. Poor guy.

    Yeah definitely, I'm an atheist and I wouldn't dream of doing something like that.
    I know different workplaces have different rules on personal office space so while some would not allow customisation like that many places give employees the right to do things like that, just as the other people in the building would have the right to customise their space.
    If the guy in question was rubbing his belief in everyone's face and trying to convert them or disprove atheism I could understand the anger ( although not the bullying) but by the sound of it the guy is keeping his religious beliefs in his own space.
    I personally don't understand bring offended by someone's faith ( unless the situation stated above)
    No offence but the guys sound like dicks, poor guy.

    It's his space. He has a right to put up what he wants in it.

    He's not hurting anyone or trying to, so you need to grow up if you're offended by it.

    You're not representing atheism very well.

    Your coworkers are grown adults and they act like children. Who cares if the guy is religious or not...if he does a good job at work and he isn't an asshole just leave him be and treat each other with respect. Damn.

      Hypocrisy running rampant. Like seriously, how is that different then picking on a ginger, or black guy, or asian guy , or a gay guy, or a woman. It just a feeble excuse for bigots and asshole to display what absolute shit heads they are.

        I find it offensive that you would bring those groups up, picking on them is no different to picking on anyone else. They don't deserve any special treatment or mention.

        I find it funny that an Atheist would care, they have no religious belief of their own and hence nothing for the crucifixes to contradict causing anger.

          I agree, that was just more broad examples for the OP, its just the same as popular kids picking on people not them. Too me the workplace sounds like a middle school class, where the group of " COOL GUYS" are just trying to find a reason to be dicks, this week it the Catholic, next week is the guy that is dweepy and probably doesnt get laid, its sophomoric.

      How can someone not have a theory on religion, if you are religious you have a theory, if you are an atheist you have a theory, if you are agnostic you have a theory, if you choose to ignore religion you are doing so for a reason therefore you have a theory
