Is this fair?

So basically

This was a couple years ago, and looking back on it now, i realise this was absolute BS

I was at school in year 11 (16 years old) and my mates brother was in year 10 (15 years old) and we often have banter. So one day for a joke, i snatched a packet of chrisps out of his hand, with every intention of handing them back after a couple of minutes...

As soon as i grabbed the Chrisps he Punched me pretty hard, straight in the Eye, and within an instant, i did the same and punched him straight in the mouth, but a fair bit harder.

I recall getting a 1 week suspension from school, despite the fact it was natural instinct and self defence!?!?!

i would have accepted a Saturday detention of a friday after school, But a fucking suspension

BULL SHIT

Fair 20
Not fair 31

It wasn't necessarily "fair," but I'll bet it taught you a lesson -- never try to take food away from a pig!

you took away his food. His reaction was understandable.

Hm. That's weird. But I suppose that that is a bit unfair.

To be fair, you did take his chips, and despite your intuitions, I'm sure he didn't know them, and given that the two of you often fought, you really should have thought that one through. Regardless of wether or not it was done in self defense, you still hit him, and any sort of violence isn't usually tolerated in schools. You were both in the wrong and deserved to be punished.

    • Yes i would agree with that, but he did not get punished. which was what angered me

So did he get detention? Punching you over something like that is kind of severe. I think he should have got something as well. If he did not get in trouble at all that is not fair. If you both got in trouble it is fair.

      Not intuitions, I meant intentions.
