Is this normal after an i love you?

Note, it is my significant other's busy time of the year at work, so when I say standoffish, it could be due to this issue alone.

My significant other told me she loved me a few days ago while we were hugging. I told it to her, as well. She has communicated but seems a little standoffish.
I know it is a big step to tell someone you love them. Maybe it is just a normal reaction and I'm just too nervous. Maybe it has nothing to do with that at all and everything to do with her work.
