      heh, of course the world's largest Internet search engine is called "Google", so the name tik tok isn't anymore infantile than that.

      Couldn't google have come up with a cool sounding tech name like ByteSeek or something?

          I guess something like ByteSeek sounds a bit more dangerous in a few ways.

          BTW there is no such company, just a name I pulled out of my butt.

    I feel like as a teen I can successfully answer this. Plenty of kids use TikTok. It used to be an app called 'Musical.ly' that was then bought by a Chinese company. Musical.ly was mostly about music, but TikTok introduced ways of making funny content as well. Now it's the "new Vine", but with lots of dancing too. It's a successful Frankenstein of other social medias, really.

    Instagram is for friends and shit memes. Reddit is for shittier memes. Snapchat is for horny or just friendly daily snaps. WhatsApp is family. Discord is gaming. They each have a purpose, it's just a bother really but yeah.

        You mean, like my analog watch? Because, yeah. A lot of my classmates and I use analog things on a daily basis. We just also use the Internet and apps, you know, you can use both.

    It's an app desig ed and owned by the chinese government, where kids record themselves doing "dance moves" repeatedly, so the chinese can get lots of footage of your face and body movements and get lots of data for the facial recognition system they will use when they take over.
