When I write my comments to the OP I think about what 2-3 other regular is it normal users here will think about what I write. If they read it. Maybe they don't read all of my comments but I kinda hope they do. Tell me I'm not the only one who does this.
I would be lying if I said I didn't make comments knowing that other users would read them. I wouldn't write them if I wanted to hide. I answer with the OP in mind, but on less serious posts I write what amuses me and imagine which fellow IINer will enjoy it with me.
Is it bad that I assume everyone wants to read my comments?
Hehe, I don't actually think that. But there are a few here that I think will read this and roll their eyes...if they even make it this far, and a few who may smirk and giggle inside their head a little.
well me i don't really mind what the others may think about my comments they can vote it down up or report it if they like or they can come and cuss me out if they would like to.
it that if they really have something to say to me i would love to hear it
I don't know what the people on IIN think about me. Even if everyone on this website hated me, I wouldn't care. Unlike others, my self-identity is about me, not other humans.
Not sure who you mean but I most probably read your comments. I speed read so it's no real problem for me to read everything. The only ones I avoid are answers of more than a thousand words where the first hundred or so are clearly going nowhere. I know I write long answers and I do ramble and re-emphasise things but I do try to get my point across (which is my excuse for long answers).
As for me thinking about other people seeing my comments, I may be different than most. When I answer I'm rarely thinking about anybody but the OP. To illustrate that, right this second I am thinking about you. I'm not bothered how my reply comes across. I'm not bothered how it makes people think about me. I'm thinking about how I can give you both an honest answer and one which tells you something relevant about what you asked.
The only time I'm not thinking about the OP is when I make a joke. It seems completely selfish to hijack someone's post and use it to get people to laugh at you but I do it every day. I'm not offended when it happens to me, so hopefully I'm not offending other people either.
When I write my comments I consider how it would come across to everyone else, if that's what you mean? Unless you mean specific users?
2-3 users in particular? Or just any?
Can't say I do this. I don't like thinking about people reading my comments when I write them. And since the post is about that, that's exactly what I'm thinking about. Eek.:S It's not normal for me, it makes me uncomfortable, but I'm sure it is for other people.
