It shits me how vlc player has subtitles on by default. Every time I watch something I have to turn it off.

    Tools--> Preferences --> Subtitles/OSD --> uncheck "Enable subtitles".

    You're welcome, moron. That's how software works, instead of posting about it you look for what you need in the menu.

      WOOOOO HOOOO HOOOO, Miss know it all better settle down before she has a stroke. Thanks for your help there Elsa, but as I have my vlc skinned I have to go another root. Figured it out though, THANKS Elsa.

    I thought it depends on the video. I'm sure I've watched videos with subtitles before but they were turned off by default.
