Itn to sleep right next to a friend?

There are girl sleepovers were everyone sleeps on the floor together and there is my friend who I think may consider herself a lesbian and loves to cuddle. Honestly I don't mind because she's a friend and we're pretty close. Although I wonder if it's normal to sleep in the same bed and snuggle together and hug and-sometimes I feel dirty when this happens and don't know what to think.
She knows I am not a lesbian type so she respects it and I respect her.
So what am I feeling that has me cautious?

My best friend slept at my house recently and we slept together in my bed (I have a double bed) and we cuddled. I think it's a closeness thing though as we've been friends since year 7 (I'm 19 and she's 20 now) and we used to kiss and hold hands :D

I envy the way women are able to do things like this; kiss, hold hands, sleep together, and cuddle, and it's deemed to be fairly normal and acceptable and doesn't neccessarily mean anything. They're just girls, just friends.

Well guys could do it too and nobody would care if they didn't make it out to be wrong..

Now this comment will be a bit longer, I guess, so bear with me :3

Sleeping next to a friend is normal, hugging and cuddling not so much.

You said you think she might be a lesbian but you're not a 100% sure? Be open with her about this and make sure not giving her a wrong impression. Try making this conversation as comfortable as possible for her.

I think this is important because I personally hate being unsure about stuff like this. Unrequited love or affection hurts but it's certainly better than not knowing what the other person thinks and feels.

Also, I think continuing a friendship is prett hard when one-sided feelings are involved.

I appreciate your comment but what do you mean by one-sided?

One person having feelings (of romantic or sexual nature) for the other without them having mutual feelings.

Okay I see. Yeah I've thought about that but I don't want to suspect that just because she may be a lesbian that she wants to be more than friends.

Her being a lesbian kind of changes that doesn't it?

Because it might not be 100% wholesome. It may also lead to giving her the wrong idea.

Sleep "right next to" a friend without hugging too much -> normal
Sleep "with" a friend and hug and snuggle -> not normal

Nothing wrong with platonic cuddling in my books as long as you both understand and respect eachother's boundaries.

Deep down, you know she likes you and you're uncomfortable about it.

I've always thought women are very touchy with each other, so maybe she's just like that. Especially girls.
