Jaw pain from gum

I use to chew big chunks of gum while at work (I work alone its not obnoxious) and I do this because it makes my jaw muscles larger. I think possibly my jaw muscle has been pulled because its been 3 weeks now and when I try to chew gum it hurts really bad later. My jaw muscles are starting to shrink. Is it normal? What could it be?
