Kid acted like a total brat at dinner

Kid stood on chair, made loud noises and gestures trying to get attention, called people stupid man and stupid woman, told people to shut up and threatened to hit people. He was doing this to adults who were laughing and egging it on.

The fact that adults were egging the kid on makes this weird. A kid throwing a tantrum in public is irritating, but relatively normal. Adults taunting a child who's throwing a tantrum is inappropriate in so many ways and just uncomfortable.

Some adults get on the tables, make gestures, and noises for attention.
Alot of people's cultures expect the young girls to do the same. These cultures often have 39 year old grandmothers.

I assume this was in a restaurant or some other public space.

It's understandable that you focused on the behaviour of the kid since he was the one making the ruckus, but it's not his fault. We're not born civilised; that's something we have to learn from our parents and the other adults around us. Consideration of the needs of others, delayed gratification and controlling violent impulses all require mental effort, so it's easier and much more fun to behave like a barbarian - if you can get away with that.

If what you saw is normal behaviour for that family, the people responsible for raising the kid are setting themselves up for huge headaches down the line. You had to deal with him for a short period, but they have him 24/7. They'll eventually have to cope with the teenage version of what you saw, and the kid will eventually have to learn that the world will not let him get away with whatever he wants to do. So pity the kid, and feel maximum disdain for his idiotic, incompetent parents.

I agree that barbarian behavior is more fun than restraining your impulses. Here at IIN, we do not penalize barbarianism. So, I see great prospects for his active membership here in the future when he learns to write.

Any chance the kid was exceptionally retarded for his age?

It's like you've never met a child before...

And did you call him or her "kid"?

Is this a thread about goats?

You forgetting some things that would make this story make sense.

            Whos kid was it?
What relation to you have to this kid?
Why were you in company of this kid?
Why did the parents or whoever in charge not do anything about the kid?
Why did you not complain to "Kids" parents?

Ive had an apolitical solution to the abortion dilemma that would solve this.

No abortion before birth, all kids are allowed to be killed by anyone for any reason up to age 14. This would totally solve the "What if hitler or jesus was aborted" argument, cause by that point you'd already know which one you're dealing with.

That's messed up. Your telling us you'd kill a 14 year old or younger child. Your personality isnt set in stone at 14. When I was 14 I was obsessed with death. I tried killing people and made multiple attempts to end my own life. But I changed and now I feel that all life is precious. Every life has meaning even if they are evil. Yes we hate them and yes they are terrible people but somtimes those people change. And when they do they do more than enough to make up for their mistakes. So honestly, Is it really worth taking a life because they act dumb when they are a kid?
