Just taking a general poll about Kindle devices and users. I'm not interested in certain platforms, basically whether you, or someone you know uses the Kindle store for books.

im thinking of going for nook just cos i want to give them competition.
book price may depend. personally i like Baen's prices - but you don't need a kindle or a nook to read them. usually they're around 6 bucks a pop but you can read them on your computer and on most readers (they have multiple formats)
Well since you guys and gals seem to like your kindles, what do you think would be fair to ask for a book? I was thinking something like $3.50, since I'm unknown. Maybe have the print version (they can print as ordered) something like $10.50 (since print costs more to make.) I'm trying to write something like a steampunk city of ember mushed with HP, and something from miyazaki...
My mother got one for Christmas this year. She was really happy about it. =]
I'm finding it hard to find work really, it seems in my current state, that one must be bi-lingual, or posses 10 years of previous work experience. Having gotten my degree out of state, and moving here, I am not bi-lingual or have 10 years of previous experience. However writing has always been my strongest suite, and I'm thinking about doing the "direct to kindle" publishing. I'm just taking a poll to figure out whether there is a large enough market to even consider eking out a living as a writer.
I don't know any Kindle owners whatsoever. The family computer's internet history would suggest that someone in my family is getting one for Christmas, but I'm not sure who.
