Kitten troubles! help?

I'm raising a 4 month old kitten. He's a nice little guy, but sometimes I think he plays a little rough. I have two dogs: a miniature poodle and a chihuahua. Both dogs have never been around a cat or kitten, and neither has the kitten been around dogs before hand. They get along great, but sometimes, Mittens (the kitten) plays with my poodle and bites her. I don't think she bites hard, and the dog doesn't seem to be in any pain, but I fear that Mittens wont grow out of it when he gets his adult sized teeth and may actually hurt the dog. Mittens also likes to play chew on hands. As said earlier, it doesn't hurt, but I'm afraid he wont grow out of it when his new teeth come in. Is this normal, for a kitten to be this playful? Will he grow out of it? Is there something I can do to calm him down and make him less playful/feisty? Thanks in advance for any help.

Your kitten is just going through a teething stage like you did when you were a baby. It will grow out of it. If it doesn't however, you can try using a squirt bottle when he's older.

Or I can just take you to a tribe of canabals. I like my idea better.

  • I have a kitten to.. Frieda! She is so playful.. And all she wants to do is play, she doesn't really like being stroked and just ends up biting! It doesn't hurt! But it's only cause she's so playful! Are kittens should get together ;)

You cannot make a kitten less playful. It will take about a year, year and a half before it seriously settles down. Kittens all dcratch and bite, they will bite a lot more if you "unclaw" them.

My friend's kitten was the same (maybe they all are). Puppies my family had have been similar. I think they're just teething. The last dog was known as "The Terror" by all who knew her as a puppy. She turned out fine, though.
