every time the door opens he's just waiting and runs out as fast as he can. Why does he do this? and is it normal?

    Yes, my cat always bolts out the door as if it's his only chance and the door will only be open for 1.5 seconds.

    Last time I let my cats out they got serious SERIOUS fleas it was so bad there were fleas in our bed and in our carpet. Don't let them outside they have it real good.

    U don't let him go outside.. My cat was always like urs waiting for me to open the door and let him out and I would just let him go outside now he wants to come inside all the time :)

    of course, he wants to explore all the things he smells let him out!! (unless there's busy streets around,or he;s too young or somethin) why don't people ever let their cats out:? my cat is 15 years old and he still enjoys the outdoors every day...

      i personally say if its an inside cat you shouldnt let it out cuz i did to 4 of my cats and they never came back... So in some point i guess you shouldnt do it.

      I used to let my late cat out all the time until she went missing and I found her 2 days later curled up alive under a bush.

      It seems she'd had a stroke or something like that and she sadly died a few days later.

      I now have two young cats but I don't let them out the front and only let them in the back yard for fresh air. They seem to be happy enough though, they get to chase the leaves that drift down.

        The neighbour of my ex was always threatening to poison her outdoors cat and then one day he just went missing (the cat, not the neighbour). Now she has an indoors cat and it's really funny when she takes her into the garden. Her head cranes all over the place, looking at birds flying overhead.

          Gosh really?, some people are just evil! :( Although it's funny you mention that since my mother was convinced that our neigbour had poisoned our cat, even now she still thinks it's suspicious *hmmface lol*

          And that's what my two little ones do, if a bird is flying, their heads are like a noddy dogs, all over the place! XD Cats are the strangest but most cute funny things!

            They are indeed. Where I used to live, there was a cat who waited for me at the bus-stop just so he could get a bit of affection from me every morning. I always feel sad thinking of him there now, wondering where I am. :/
