Krzr battery dies :(

I have a Motorola Krzr cell phone. Yeah I know, it's soooo 2007 or whatever. Anyway I've noticed all of a sudden the battery keeps dying. I mean someone will call me, and within 10 seconds the low battery beep comes on!! :( I'll charge it (full) and then one call kills it. Even texting drains it! It's so frustrating! I have to charge it like 5 times a day! >:( I am due for a hardware upgrade in October 2010, and I can't wait!! So it is normal for a cell battery to die soooo quickly???

go to google, type the phones model number and the word battery, scroll until you see one in your country with a price tag and buy it button, checkout, wait for delivery, install battery in phone - problem solved. Battery's will run out of capacity eventually.

Seems like you tend to keep phone for a longer time. I would suggest an iPhone foremostly because of superiour build quality and durability among smartphones. Also if you like to read, new iPhone 4 has a super high-density display so when you read, the letters will seem like of a real book rather than composed of pixels.

Thank you so much! Yeah I normally try to keep my phones as long as possible. Rogers only lets you do a hardware upgrade like every 3 years (unless you do it sooner for big bucks). And I do like to read! So I think an iPhone will be on my list for October :)

If I can get it to last until October, I will be happy. Then it's a NEW phone for me! :) Possibly an iPhone or some kind of Smartphone. What do you people suggest?

Don't be too surprised if the new battery doesn't hold the charge either. Motorola phones tend to do that for some reason.

Thanks for all your posts! I think you guys are right - the phone is at least 2 years old, and I'm sure it's the original battery. I ordered a new one off eBay, so hopefully it will be here soon and work better. I used to charge mine overnight, but now I will be sure to only charge it until it's fully charged. I actually have three chargers for it - one at home, one at work, and a spare. You can never have enough battery chargers! I'm hoping to get a smart phone in October :)

Rechargeable batteries normally have a lifespan of 1.5 - 2 years though MOST can work longer.

The capacity of a battery shortens over time.

Yeah actually the same thing happened to me... it happens when you charge the battery more often than it needs to be charged. If you take the battery out and spin it on a table or something and it spins , get a new one. The battey isn't supposed to spin. Just don't charge your new one overnight or anything, just til it's done charging.

I had the same problem. Pull off the back and look at the battery. If it look likes it has a bump or a bubble that would be the problem. Try taking it to a verizon store. The'll fix it. That's what I did. Good luck
