I disagree with all those naiive assholes spilling bullshit about life can change. Life isn't fair. It will never change. It is simple luck. Life is the crappiest lottery you ever played. I happily was born into a decent wealthy family. but billions were born into poverty while 1 percent enjoy happiness. that is a very crappy odd. You might never make it in life as in success simply because you werent in the right place at the right time. simple as that.

Life is what you make of it; no more, no less.
If one gets off their ass and tries their best, chances are pretty good they will be well placed to take advantage of an opportunity when it arises.
If they sit on their ass, blaming everyone and everything for their misery and failures, then they will probably never notice the opportunity and go through life thinking they never get a break.

    • Although it might result in a catastrophic freeway pileup, as drivers try to read all that, your entire quote would make a good billboard public service announcement.

Is that good or bad? Not the crash thing.

Nope. Life is what you make of it (cliche). But what is true is that the harder you work, the luckier you get.

    • You mean the more opportunities you find or create? Much like a fox. I agree. Anyways, there's too many variables for every individual person.

One great example? Miracle On Ice. The US vs. Russia 1980 hockey game. The odds of winning were slim, nill, to none, right? Both sides hungered to win. What a death defying bitter fight to the end! That went down in history. It wasn't lucky for the Russians. It was miserable defeat. What an opponent to go up against!

I can probably list endless examples like the Apollo 13 space mission. There's a good move about that too. I end with that famous quote, "failure is not an option". That's the mindset that finds luck where it seems virtually implausible.

I could counter all that with "shit happens, we're all fucked" scenarios, but I'll leave on a happier note. It's the fight that counts.
