Lucid dreaming

Lucid dreaming is a phenomenon which involves a person becoming conscious and aware that they are dreaming or 'waking up' inside a dream. I do it often. Have you guys ever lucid dreamed? Please share your experiences.

I do this all the time. I don't force it, it just happens.
Ive also had dreams where i wasn't aware i was dreaming and the people in my dreams have told me I'm dreaming but i wouldn't believe them and i think everything is real. weird right?

Yes. When I was around 18 -20 I studied astral projection. After 2 years of dedicated practice I started to have lucid dreams as well as out of body experiences many times. I was completely aware and lucid. I could fly with the power of thought instantly to any place on earth or elsewhere. I travelled to different dimensions which are difficult to describe with words.

I would often go to bed only to find myself outside of my body immediately after.

Once out of my body there was often a tall dude who would appear wearing a silverish coloured grey business suit with a red shirt and grey tie. He was a kind of guide for the spirit realm and would take me to different dimensions, show me how to fly, teach me stuff. He communicated to me with thoughts and pictures.

One time it was like he downloaded thousands upon thousands of beautiful paintings in to my head (later I studied to be a designer, artist and have made a living from it). I remember passing through walls and roofs, flying up above the clouds almost out into space and seeing the reflection of sunlight on the ocean below.

He also took me to what I call lower realms and showed me the craziest, scariest monsters you could ever imagine. As well as going to higher dimensions which are all thought based. It was better than any adventure movie I've ever seen. Little bit like the movie Avatar but better.

I don't really know what it all means but it sure seemed more real than my so called real life at the time. I'm not saying I recommend doing it as it has its dangers , but that was my experience. It hasn't happened to me for years now.

I've got really interested in lucid dreaming and exploring the subconscious. I told myself very firmly a few months ago that I wanted to remember my dreams and now I remember at least one most nights. I'm becoming lucid more frequently too. When I'm lucid I often forget what I was supposed to do in the dream. I'm very good at manipulating my dream environment and making things appear. But I havn't got the hang of changing scenes yet. I'm sure I'll find a way soon that works for me.

Yes and it is an amazing thing! I don't dream often and I lucid dream very rarely. But when I do: Perfection! Feeling awake in a dream, having control over it, being able to manipulate it! Beautiful. I've made bad dreams change, or turned normal ones into my idea of heaven. The only downside was that when I woke up for real, I realize I was dreaming in a dream and all of the stuff that happened, never happened! And it looks so real!
    God damn it! Heaven destroyed!

However, if you're talking about sleep paralysis nightmares, that is something I have not experienced and don't want to experience.
Friends of mine have had this and they say it's the most horrifying thing.

  • I often know I am dreaming and make sure I remember what happened. A good tip for lucid dreaming and remembering them is to keep a dream journal and you will begin to notice recurrent spots and piece things together. It can get really weird and I am convinced there is much more to dreams than science knows. There are still laws of physics, different from here, but I cannot control everything and other characters have a will of their own. I think the other characters are real as here and have had shared dreams with people, but because there are multiple versions of everyone and everything they are not always consistently the same. It seems to me dreams are the chaos realm that exists between realities. I have gotten really good at exploring the dream world. If anybody has dream questions or stories of their own this is something I am always interested in.

I can definitely lucid dream. In my latest dream I was in this classroom with a bunch of of other people. A witch was forcing us to do math problems. I got bored of the dream so I got out of my desk, flew to the portal on the tv that lead to the real world to wake myself up. It was a stupid thing to do since I have insomnia and was actually getting sleep that night until I woke myself up.

The night before that, some dude stole my bike, I realized I was dreaming after I noticed I could not run after him, so I used Instant Transmission to catch him and change the dream.

I can name a bunch more, but that would probably take too much time to type. The few times where I can't lucid dream is when I dream about the life of a girl and her 7 friends in this anime looking world in a semi-floating timeline. I have no control over anything they do. It's like I'm watching an episode of a Shoujo, action, horror anime each time. I wish I could could control them because some of their battles are really fucked up sometimes.

I have also on another occasion chosen to have sex in my dream with my bf.

Oh and one time I rode a large white elk threw the woods...because I decided fairies lived there and I wanted to see there tiny kingdom.
