Madness is a gift

I am tired of people hating on insanity. He has been a wonderful friend of mine who literally can make me feel like a supreme deity beyond all of humanity. Insanity has made me creative, intelligent, and bright. Of course, I have also at times, been a paranoid, bizarre, ranting, and tormented individual fearing for my very life with no logical reason at all yet I am still a creative, intelligent, and bright person and would not be so if it were not for insanity. Insanity is not so bad after all, although it can be the worst thing anyone can experience, it can take you to heaven and hell, not just hell. Just like Carl Jung said, a tree cannot reach heaven if it's roots do not reach down to hell. I am a classic example of this and always will be. My roots may reach to hell, yet I extend to heaven. Also, I am not a violent person nor have I done anything idiotic such as attempting to fly or running around naked. Not all "insane" people do such things

    So what's the question?

It's not necessarily insanity that you are experiencing. Perhaps it can be perceived by others that way, but intuition does not mean you are wacko. In many ancient cultures, the pineal gland (3rd eye) was considered sacred, even to the point that in ancient Egypt and other places it was shown as a pine cone that is sacred because thru your intuition is the gateway to enlightenment and being all knowing.

    • I agree, too many people think all this stuff is crazy though because it doesn't fit with the "logical" society that we live in

Yep! I think a good way to look at is, is if you take other cultures like native Americans, ancient Egypt culture, from India, ancient Japanese, etc, or cultures unaffected by today's ridiculousness and you'll see that THIS culture is the weird one that the intuition is called some "pseudoscience".

Understand that you are just one person and that many people with mental illnesses are not so fortunate. Many can't keep friends or jobs. Please visit Skid Row in LA--or any slum near you-- and see how many of those filthy, miserable, homeless people are speaking to themselves or are just too catatonic to speak.

Don't speak for everyone. Anecdotal evidence is not evidence. For most, mental illness is nothing but a curse.

  • That must be why my schizophrenic uncle steals, lies, is violent, aggressive, is in his 40's and lives of my grandmother whom he assaults, insults, belittles and has no consideration for. Schizophrenia, what a gift :D

it can be... it is sometimes

      Comment Hidden ( show )
    • I'm not really talking about people who lie, steal, and get violent/aggressive. That kind of behavior is not a gift in any way. I'm talking more about people who have various psychological differences and that in a lot of cases it can be a good thing.

  • I just made a similar post yesterday. A bit of insanity is beneficial for creativity and intelligence. Too much and it's hard to use the benefits though.

    • That's basically what I'm saying. It actually can be adaptive in small doses. Obviously, those who are just walking around town mumbling to themselves or are unable to dress themselves, show up at work, etc. are not likely benefiting at all from their creativity or insights and are probably suffering greatly

its not suffering because father Madness never abandons us when the rest of the world does. Sorta like crazy Jesus.
