Making sure this breeder isn’t scamming me

I feel like this person is legit but I just want to be sure!

Should I send this text to the breeder? Or is it rude to assume?

Good afternoon, do you mind just sending one more picture of the puppy but with my name (sally sue) written on a piece of paper? I just want to confirm that this is not a scam.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Sounds like you'd be better off finding a legitimate breeder.

Do not send money without having the dog in hand. My wifes fr8end got scammed out of 500 dollars doing this. They were supposedly gonna ship the dog LOL. Obviously the dog never came.

True but what if the breeder is offering to accept half payment now and the other half later after I get back from my study abroad trip??

Most people selling dogs on Craigslist are scammers. A few are not. I got my Pomeranian from Craigslist from someone who was moving. I also went to that person’s house and picked up the dog. You should not get one from someone you aren’t meeting and if they are selling it for many hundreds of dollars please just go and get a dog from a shelter. There are so many that need homes.

I had a dog sent by train to me once, never again. Go see the dog yourself just to be sure.

  • I don't know what the problem is! You give them the money when you have the dog. I mean who pays for something without having it first

It's not rude to request that. If they have a problem with it, they're not legit.

Don't hand over a penny until you've met the dog. And as Rose has said a proper accredited breeder will be registered. It's easy to prove to a potential customer that you are legit. Unless you aren't...
