Many growth spurts within a short period of time and almost in my20's?

I'm going to give you a little back story to help you better understand the situation.

I got my period when I was 9 and there were concerns that I would stop growing. I was never told that my bones had closed. I was put on flovent, which is a steroid that helps with chronic bronchitis, and one of the side-effects was stunted growth. For many years, I stayed the same height at 5'2'' and there were a few variations on those measurements but, I was still considered to be a little over that height but not 5'3''.

Late last year, I started eating a diet that featured foods that boosted testosterone, with one of the main reasons being to get taller. It took awhile but, suddenly I started having these growths spurts. I must have kick started something because, even after not sticking to that diet, I still have growth spurts.

For about 1 or 2 years, I've been taking a supplement that has been reported to increase height in adults but, it didn't really start working this way until late last year. Even when I don't take it, I still get growth spurts. It is very rare for me not to have grown at all after waking up.

During this relatively short period of time, I have gone through so many sizes of clothing. My family has been getting very pissed and disturbed by all of this. Even, going so far as to try to deny that I have been growing in height, and not in width.

They've been telling me that if I keep growing like this that something is seriously wrong with me and that I should see a doctor. They feel that I'm too old to start growing (I'm 19), even though height doesn't officially end until the early 20's for some adults. Should I see a doctor?

I am happy and thankful that I am finally growing again, but their words are starting to get to me. I would like to think that it has something to do with my genetics, as my father was VERY tall at 6'4''. What do think? Is this normal?

Yes, that's not unheard of and exactly whats supplements are you referring to? Also what is your reason for using a testosterone booster? College Sports? Weightlifting?

Thank you. That's very comforting. I was beginning to think that I had a tumor on my pituitary gland. :)

I'd say it is normal and this reminds me of a friend of mine who got her period at 10. She was 5'5 when I was in school with her but in high school, around 15, she started growing. She went from 5'5 to 5'8.5 in a year, by 16. Then she stopped growing and was 5'8.5 until 19 years old when she started to grow again and by 20 years of age, she was 5'11, no lie. Her parents don't understand it because her mom is 5'2 and her dad is 5'7 but she's okay now, she stopped growing at 20-21 and is now 23 and totally healthy.
