I think is more a habit than a hobby. Cause you do a hobby to entertain yourself, but when you masturbate is not for entertainment, it is for get some pleausure. Even you get pleasure when you are entertained.
Anyways, it might be related one thing with the another one, but like I said before, I don't think it is a hobby.

I think of it as a hobby. Let me explain... for many masturbation is like brushing teeth, something done quickly and they they get on with life. I am interested in the subject in many ways though. I studied the history and cultural aspects and am well read on up to date research on behaviours, techniques and frequencies across the population. I spend a considerable amount of money on clothing, toys, machines, literature, equipment and consumables to use. My sessions are planned and prolonged and I document and analyse my activities. I even have my own special room for it as do many hobbyists. This room has decor, lighting, sound system, TV, internet access, cameras, furniture, machines, rows of toys on display and yes my erotic literature. So it costs me maybe £1000 a year, takes maybe 2 hours a day, i enjoy it, there is a product (research and the book I am writing) and it involves a significant skill set so its just as much of a hobby as model making, baking, playing an instrument etc as far as I am concerned.
