If theres 330,000,000 people in a country and 10,000 of them say get bit by a rattlesnake what is the ratio?
Example "1 in a million" or "1 in 30 million"
I remember doing these problems in highschool but that was a long time ago.

Well you know it's:
10,000 in 330,000,000
And you want:
1 in _______
So divide 10,000 by 10,000 to get 1 on the left. But then whatever you do to the left side of the equation, you must do to the right as well. So divide 330,000,000 by 10,000 as well. This would leave you with:
1 in 33,000
Correct.

10,000 (divided by) 330,000,000
A ratio is nothing more than one number divided by the other number.
