Maturity. when did you achieve it?

By your own definition and standards, when did you feel like you've matured overall? When did you finally feel like you've reached a peak of life knowledge that was usable to you subsequently (without being too late)?

When did you feel that you're in control of your overall life and know what to expect from your future self or where you can take that self in the future? When did you reach a reasonable level of understanding of friendships, relationships, of your place in society, of your position relative to different types of people? When did you feel like you've stopped making the mistakes of early youth, like moving in circles and repeating big mistakes?

Of course maturing never ends. But I'm talking about passing through certain thresholds that were meaningful to you. What are/were the times & moments when you felt that you fruitfully could use an amount of past life experiences that piled up over the years? Please feel free to share as much of your life story as you like.

I'm 24. Based on past moments, I try to anticipate future situations and begin dealing with them right now.

An argument can be made that you keep maturing and growing throughout your life. Intelligence plays a large part in your final statement also. Anticipating future situations to either avoid a negative outcome, or plan for the inevitable (seeing the big picture) is a trait of intelligent people.

I was born and grew up feeling old already. I never imagined I'd live as long as I have.

I dont understand how that is witty. I didn't have an imaginary friend since I said it was illogical.

Still waiting for my boobs to come in...

And to answer your question maturely, I feel like my level-headedness has improved greatly just this year, at age 25. I quit worrying about useless drama, no one is taking advantage of me, I quit experimenting with drugs, haven't even smoked weed in 2 months, and I have goals for the future. I still have a long way to go though. I'm sure I'll find a few things about my present self that I'll ask "what the fuck was wrong with me?" next year.

    Maturity depends on the context

As for being professional and mature at work. Mid 20's

For everything else. Still to be determined

Since I was making a full adult's share on a commercial fishing boat at 12, I'd guess I'd have to say 12. Nobody gave me any breaks because of my age in that industry, that's for damn sure.

I know, right? When I was 10 years old, I had to balance a full time job as a neurosurgeon while fighting in the Vietnam war, while attending elementary school. It was a hard life, it was.

Oh, and also, no one is mature at 12. Most 12 year olds still don't know how to dress themselves.
