Meaningless threats to cute things

Is it normal to be adoring something cute like a dog by saying something like: "awwww! You're so cute, you're the cuttest dog in the world," and then later follow up with: " you're so cute I wanna rip your ears off and throw them in the fryin pan then eat them for lunch. :)" I say this all with a smile and I actually want to do what I just said but never do cause' I know I'll get in trouble. is this normal?

Um... I kind of get what you mean. Sometimes I'll say something like that but I don't actually want to do what I say. For example, I'll say something like, "you're so cute I just want to crush you" while hugging something, but I don't actually want to crush it. I think it's normal that you say these things but not normal that the only thing that's stopping you from cooking and eating your dogs ears is getting in trouble.

    I agree with ComeFlyWithMe's comment.

Its normal to say things like that but not to want to actually do them :/

I tell my parakeets "You're so cute I just want to squeeze you until your head pops off!"

    My bf thinks its psycho...

Sometimes I tell my dog I'm gonna bite it's ears off and chew 'em up cause they're so cute..sometimes I even bite them..not hard, but you know.
