That's the problem they're having with it though .it fights off all kinds of things, except people get to addicted to they can't control it enough to make it worthwhile. Just like hydrocodone not everyone that gets prescribed to them gets addicted to them some people can do things in moderation and be happy in life and have a job and a car and a house and teeth. Of course you had the stereotypical meth head that has run down trailer house and nothing. But seriously if you don't believe me Google it.

This rumor is dumb as hell. Ritalin is not basically prescribed meth. They're both stimulants, but Ritalin (methylphenidate) is not even an amphetamine. In fact, it's distantly derived from Thebaine, an alkaloid of the Opium Poppy.
They're both stimulants, but they're not very comparable. Ritalin is WAY weaker and far less euphoric. Caffeine, also being a stimulant, could be taken in high enough doses to produce effects similar to Ritalin. They make caffeine powder and people snort that shit if they're desperate for a high.
One further piece of evidence that Ritalin is not "prescription meth" is that methamphetamine IS prescribed, under the brand name Desoxyn, but this is EXTREMELY rare and only reserved for the most treatment-resistant cases of morbid obesity, or in even rarer cases ADHD (and only if there is no history in the patient or their family of addiction or mood disorders).
