Might buy a fake engagement ring

Now hear me out; I'm a 20 year old woman living just minutes away from the downtown area of my city. I don't really go out much unless i need to buy groceries or run little errands, though I'll be outside more often once i secure a job.

Whenever i step out, I can expect to be catcalled at least 3 times during my 10 minute travel time to and fro. I walk everywhere since we don't have a car.
Jerks trying to make me have sex with them for money, random creeps asking if i have a man, assholes talking about my body like i'm a damn trophy on display...

It doesn't matter what i do...i wear baggy hoodies, jeans that don't accentuate my curves, keep my hair in a bun...some days i'll even pull my hood up in hopes that they'll think i'm a man and leave me alone.

Mentioning my boyfriend, soon to be my husband, never helps and i'm just scared...

would a fake engagement ring keep these animals away? I don't feel safe going out but sometimes i just HAVE to.

I'm small and can't really fight, nor can i run very fast...i'm practically kidnapping size.

Fake ring might keep some away, but probably not enough to really matter. I have several hot bartender or waitress friends, and see guys hitting on them every minute they work, some really bad and can be vulgar with them. One of the hottest, no question, wears a good-sized ring that isn't an engagement but does look like it. Still doesn't keep the creepers away. They'll find something to say to her, comment on, or tell her "leave him and let me have you".

Even my former business associate, a petite, hot/cute woman with long hair women kill for and the best ass in jeans I've ever seen, would wear one if she was going somewhere alone, as guys hit on her all the time (even with my being with her or there). Only thing with her was, she wasn't a jewelry-type woman, so, looked uncomfortable wearing it. I think guys picked up on that and went at her harder anyway.

I would try to get a friend to go out with you. You're probably very attractive so guys will always want you. Being alone won't help

I don't blame you honey, but who knows it might just present as a challenge to some of the slimy bastards.
