Mouth tastes like blood?

Sometimes my mouth will randomly get the taste of blood. I'm not sure if it's psychological, or if there really is some blood in there somewhere, but I find it quite off-putting when it happens. Is it normal to randomly get the taste of blood in your mouth?

If you don't brush and floss regularly, it could be a result of gum disease.

Best guess. That's all I got. I think you should probably ask a dentist and not an Internet forum of professional non-professionals.

I do brush and floss regularly! :P I've got very healthy teeth. I guess I just wanted to see if this happened to anybody else.

It tastes similar to blood but maybe it is metallic. They're similar tastes, I think

Sometimes it's a good thing to breathe through your mouth instead of your nose.
If you mostly keep your mouth closed and breathe almost exclusively through your nose, it can make your mouth dry inside and then your gums might start to bleed a very small amount in order to trigger your tongue to produce saliva to keep your mouth moist or make you feel thirsty so you can drink something.

Or you could have periodontitis and will start to lose all your teeth

If it's really blood you could be flossing to hard. Maybe you have something on your tongue and it keeps breaking before it can heal all the way.
