My basement is evil
Every time I turn off all the lights in my basement I run like hell up the stairs. I think the guy from The Shining will come out of my boiler room screaming and swinging an axe at me. WTF is wrong with me????

Under my bed is evil...and so is the dark corner.
Don't look at the dark corner.
I'll tell you why my basement is evil. It is much more terrifying than the shining. Here is why, I'm 37, unemployed and live in one that is owned by my brother in law and my sister. It's not really a room just a space with a mattress and a lot shit scattered everywhere. Every morning I am woken up by people walking and their kids jumping on the floor directly above my head. There are also fucking dogs. All hope is lost. So don't complain about made up shit.
LOL. Basements can be really creepy actually I don't like going down into them.
I exorcised my own house after my son kept having nightmares night after night for two years. I held a crucifix in my hand and went around the whole house asking in the name of God and Jesus christ that all negativity be disolved from my house immediately. As I was walking up the stairs my legs felt like led and I was breathless but I continued.... went into my son's room and said the same thing. After that my son started to sleep really well and now doesn't and the house feels nice.
I have a problem with closet doors that are pitch black inside. keep thinking that the grudge chick is gonna peek out. And I'm 20!
I just dont like them to be open if the light it turned off. Closed is better. But open, even by a crack i have to go over and close it. Just thinking about it gives me the creeps.
Every time i run up the stairs i slam the door shut cause i think that if i look back down the dark stairs somebody will coming crawling up or some chick will be all cut up and grab me then drag me down the stairs..i know EXACTLY how you feel. Pretty normal.
For some reason the lights are my hero. Once they die... I'm next.
Or that's what my brain thinks. I think it's an instinctual thing.
Yes, I have that problem too. Fear is a natural instinct when confronted with the unknown. I have similar problems with bathrooms, and any place dark and/or quiet. Another thing that can cause fear such as this is the fact that basements are usually filled with electric equipment and, being surrounded by earth, are electrically grounded. This causes large electromagnetic fields. EMFs have been shown to generate a feeling similar to fear in people. It's perfectly normal.
To me this is normal. I get that same panicky feeling while in the shower if I have my eyes closed for too long. I start to think someone is in the room with me and I cant wash the soap off my face fast enough.
Holy crap! Jack Nicholson hangs out in your basement? Why the hell are you running away from him? Invite him upstairs and offer him a drink! He's an A list, extremely famous celebrity! I wish my life had 1/100th the excitemnt yours does.
My dog has to come with me to the basement otherwise I'm scared that cockroaches are going to smother me. Idk why it helps though, because my dog has somehow picked up my phobia, and now she runs from cockroaches -_-
She's a big fucking dog ffs.
.
hahah! mine situation same as u, run fast as possible..
i always imagine(or thought)there were "something" are chase me or watching me...
Haha, light banishes all evil. Has anybody seen paranormal activity lately? After that movie I'm not going into my basement anytime soon.
When ever I wake up at like 2 am at my gfs house I almost piss my pants because there's this giant ass mirror in the hallway
I do the same thing!
And my room is in the basement ):
You should see me when I make my way to the bathroom at night. :P
join the CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!
it usually happens to me with the hall of my house, so fucking scary.
OMG I'm like that with my laundry!
If I'm in there, as soon as I turn the light off I run like hell and close the door behind me, I don't know why though
holy shit same with me. i am so scared of my boiler room and when i close the light i dash up the stairs too.
LOL !
Awwh : )
Nawwh don't worry cause it's totally normal!
I've had many incidents like that since I was small ... it's pretty funny though :P
Congratulations. You are yet another victim of the Hollywood movie industry.Enjoy.
You know what I did?
I went to the basement one time and turned off all the lights and instead of running I sat down on the floor and said to myself "What the hell, whatever is here I'm greater that it" I sat there for 20 mins and nothing happened !!
meh bring a freaking ak47 with ya when you go downstairs...... which will win the ak or axe....... :P
OMG its that feeling that once you turn the last one. you get that one REALLY SCARY feeling in the sides of your neck near the back that you walk slowly or run, but running makes you feel like someone is actully behind you... omg i hate that so much. thank god my dad installed sliding door for light...
Me too or when I come out the bathroom I to my bed jump up because someone under the bed might grab my ankles.. Also o don't let my feet hang off the bed, my pillows can't have space between them either becuz I think someone may be reaching up to grab me. Also my bed must be against the wall so I don't have to worry about someone coming between the cracks. Weird I know. But I know a lot of people who do this.... Am I alone?
its a natural defense mechanism that all humans posses, its because deep down we are all afraid of the dark, the discovery channel did a whole 2 hour thing about why we are scared of the dark
I have had the same problem my entire life. I would consider this normal.
My bedroom was in the basement for 13 years. Every time that I would leave my room I would book it to the stairs envisioning a hand with a very stretchy arm reaching around corners to come after me and pull me into the depths of oblivion.
Then it was a mistake to watch the original Amytiville Horror. Whatever you do, don't watch that movie.
i am like that with my loft i hate it.It was converted into 3 rooms and i never go up there as it creeks and the doors shut and open on their own it has freaked me out since i watched the ring dont even ask why that made me feel this i has hyper on doctor pepper that night lol oh yeah i also cannot enter a room with a wardrobe or washing basket without looking in it to make sure no freaky peados are hiding in there :)
Part of it..if you feel like you're being WATCHED is that high levels of electromagnatism affects your brain waves and you have that feeling of being watched. This commonly happens in areas like basements or attics because of the electric. ACCORDING TO TAPS.
I have a really huge basement also. The house that i live in has a lot of history to it.When i go in my basement i notice that there are lumps in the floor.I think there are bodys buried in the floor.I do not know but it is safe the dead wont hurt it is the alive that will harm you.
Hi I'm 10 am I am still afraid of my basement too. Anyway I play the piano and my piano is in the basement! My mom makes me pratice the piano every day for a hour!!! Our basement is very dark it has lots of things in it so I think they are like monsters or ghosts or something. Once when I was playing the piano the power went off I screamed like very loud my voice was so high that my parents couldn't here me. So dude you are a 10000000%% normal even more than normal.
it is totally normal! i run like hell times the max when i turn off the lights in my basement. i think that ghosts are going to come get me. i even try to talk to the ghosts in my head telling them that it's ok and to pls don't hurt me. i think my condition isn't so normal but yours totally is. don't worry.
OMG déjà vu I do that for instence wen I turn off alight behind me I run like hell to the light igot too large imagination an I barely ever watch horrer movies (I'm a nerd only horrer books)
I used to be like that too. Eventually (at the age of 25), I gradually overcame that fear. Though I'm occasionally scared of the basement, like after I watch a horror movie or something.
I live in a room located in the basement of my home. There's a sliding door in the room leading to it, too. I always imagine someone hiding in one of the many rooms around mine, especially if I'm coming downstairs when it's pitch black. Creepy ass shit. I can't wait to move.
hahaa i sometimes run like hell like u do! i think we are people who get scared easily!
i was the same with the attic when I lived with my parents, it's normal, don't worry :)
I'm white and I walk through the black ghettos at night with a business suit on with pockets full of cash after work, that's a hell of a lot more "scary" and dangerous than some fucking basement. Man up you wimp.
It's just a phobia I used to think death (yes death, Robe scythe the lot) was after me in my basement (but only when the lights were off). Spend some time there, alone or with a friend (one you trust and can be told why you're doing this), Then start spending longer and longer intervals there. Soon the fears should subside. At least as long as the guy from the shining isn't actually there hiding in your boiler.
Me? I like the quiet solitude down in my basement now even more so when it's dark.
Chucky the doll for me. (basement)
Dolls are not my friend. If I had one in my presence and I wanted to sleep I had to place it where I could lock it away. They are creepy and were totally not necessary as a child. Being a hollow, ceramic representation of a human being it was as if they were after my soul and sucking the life force out of me...
Next time you turn off your lights just stand there and jerk off. And when you're done whisper "that was for you". Into the dark.
a few years ago i went under the shed porch section of my basement......(i hadn't gotten the chance to clean it out since the move in).......well upon cleaning out the dirt i found a set of clothes laid out if someone had been wearing them a wallet and some glasses< i looked in the wallet and recognized the last name to a family my grandmother used to work for and she told me to get out that fucking house i never did but i haven't gone down there since.. this was about 6 years ago.... don't do it
There is only one way to put an end to this.
Go on ebay and buy a used Ouija board (they work better than new ones for obvious reasons) and channel the evil spirits and tell them to fuck off.
E.M.F. ( electro Megnetic Field) can be the reason you feel like that you need to check that with an EMF detector
Hahaha I'm the same, but with any room in my house. Turn out the light and I run like hell to the next light.
to be theoretical though i would have to say that nobody is not afraid of the dark because the concept that we let our imagination get the better of us when you are in the dark you have no way of knowing whats there what could be there lurking in the shadows but we do know we want to get the hell out of there as fast as possible
shit yea thats normal when im in my basement i run upstairs all the time not because jack Nicholson is chasing me i think there are vampires down there if you ever watched lost tapes you would know
It's normal, I don't have a basement but they look scary and we all freak ourselves out from watching scary films and reading horror stories in newspapers.
That is funny. It is like that in my basement to but im not scared usually
IM SCARED TO GO DOWNSTAIRS IN THE DARK ALONE! IDK WTF IS WRONG WITH US!! LOL!
Totally normal, your just being paranoid, I always think a werewolf or a serial killer is gonna pop out, whenever i'm by myself in a dark hallway or room. My friends are the same way
One time i was in the basement i saw a shadow in the shape of a man, i got closer to the shadow and suddenly a hand grabbed me and the last thing i saw was a axe flying through the air! I then woke up from watching the shining covered in pee...
Very normal. I was always freaked out by the cellar too. There was a light right above the stairs that you could turn on from the kitchen, but to go into the room where the laundry facilities were, you had to walk through the dark to yank the lightbulb chain that was on the far side of the room. Took me only seconds to get there, but I hated it. I spent a lot of time in the cellar doing laundry or working on projects, but I never really warmed up to the place. And I'd run like hell up the stairs too, once I was finished down there. Even the cats would RUN up the stairs after being down there! When cats do something like that, it makes you think! Even today, I still dream about being down there and feeling spooked.
i had something like that from when i was 3 till i was 7 ... except it was a giant moon from a sessame street game. (the lights were all off my brother had turned the brightness of the tv off. tv speakers full blast. chose the wrong answer. loudest noise ever.)
When I was younger I was scared of the basement, too. I read this story from a book about this monster who wanted to eat this kid's toe, and I thought he would come up from the basement to eat mine. Also, I had nightmares that the guy from the "Operation" game would come out of my closet and dissect me. Yeah.
Of course it's normal! if you're not the type of person who's afraid of cold dark basements you're probably the type of person who likes to hide in them!!! Eeek!!
It perfectly normal! I run out of my bathroom after flushing the toilet... If I had a basement, I wouldn't even go there for love nor money!
Yeah, in my basement I usually run up the stairs really fast because I think someones behind me.
yeah, normal.
i get scared easily since i'm young.
i couldn't even go to our bathroom alone! someone has to go with me and wait by the door. i know....it sux. it just feels like someone is always going to get me or something..just thinking about it makes me shiver since i'm alone right now, parents at work.
I even used to do that in my hallway, which is no where near as scary as a basement.
You should be thankful that Jack Nicholson would choose to live your basement!
I often run up the stairs when I go to my basement alone and especially at night. It creeps me out..
I DO THIS EXACT SAME THING. execpt i think that someones gunna come out of a dark room with a gun or a knife. scary shit man.
OOH YEAH MAYBE YOU HAVE A TORTURED SOUL IN YOUR CELLAR.
Actually, I think you're just scared of what can't be seen in the dark, just like pretty much every other human. Yippee!
that's what I do everytime I go I'm the basement. but instead of he guy from the shining, I think the grudge will come and eat me.
I would never go into basements if I had a nitemare the nite b4 so I think it's normal :)
I get the same feeling when I run up mt normal stairs xD LOL
But it is totally normal, maybe you have something paranormal activity going on but please don't do what the retards did in the movie HAHA
But whenever you go down there take a friend or girlfriend or something
I have to have my botfriend always with me xD hahahaha
makes sense because you never know if a robber snuck in your house and is hiding there waiting to get you...
kinda happens to me too, when im coming from the kitchen/playroom/garage and go past my room while the lights of, i run, thinking something will leap out and kill me
basements - especially ones that smell like there were dead bodies in it - are creepy. I'm with you!
I too used to be really afraid of my basement. Then once i got taller things seemed much smaller to me and I didn't think that there would be a ghost where the furnace was.
some places can give anyone scares, for me it was the funeral home basement at my aunts, if your willing to try you should even fight any fears you have and stay in the basement with the lights off for a while
This is pretty normal. If you would rather feel safe inside your basement, I suggest spending the night there. Maybe with someone else.
there could really be a lost soul or ghost in there i had one in my house i had to get a witch to clean the house because supposibly my house was a torture room where they performed acts of violence in the late 1800s to native americans and i actually looked it up and was true about the area so it tied into my house
man whats wrong with you. everytime i turn off the lights i think michael myers is gonna get me! But the guy from the shining. seriously mike is so much scarier.
I used to run upstairs after I turned the basement light off also. Even though I do not run upstairs any more, I still feel uneasy after turning off the lights.
Before I go to bed, I make sure my wardrobe door is shut. I keep on thinking that something is gonna jump out of it and scare the crap out of me. I also like my curtains shut. When I was with my friends, at a sleepover, one of them said to cover up the window because a creepy face is gonna pop up. One of the other girls was SLEEPWALKING and I woke up and she was right by my bed. That was one creepy night.
I hate basements.Once when I trashed and high I swear to god I saw the ghost of my ex wife down THERE.
Just thinking of a dark basement with chucky laughing hystericaly get's me allah jesus buddah.
I don't have a basement in my house, but we have a loft . Its really creeps me out. Luckily we only go in there twice a year; for Christmas decorations. I'm also really scared of this wardrobe in the spare bedroom of my house. There are tons of stuffed animals and I'm kinda scared that they are watching me if I sleep in there... And, when I was like 10, I had this toy poodle from Hamilys amd its was in the top shelf of my wardrobe and the door was open. It looked like it was watching me. I made my mum give it to charity. I'm still bothered that it might jump through my window and kill me... Damn that was creepy...
My ex and I used to live in a duplex in Indiana, that had a basement that was creepy as hell. Our bedroom was on the top floor. At night, we would hear things in the living room being knocked over, and sounds that literally made me think that someone had broken in. I actually went downstairs, on more than one occasion, with my gun, to run whoever it was out of our place. One night, we were laying in bed, in the dark, and I heard footsteps coming up our stairs. Then, our bedroom door, that was closed, opened up, and I could hear the sound of shuffling feet in our bedroom, in the pitch black. At this point, I decided to ask our landlord if she knew if anything strange had happened with the tenant who had lived there, last. She said that, after they had moved out, she found out that they had been having some sort of "church services" down in the creepy ass basement. I went down to the basement, to look around. I couldn't find anything strange, but right as I was about to walk back up the stairs, I noticed a strange black object, on a clothes pin, fastened to a nail on the stairs. I took it off, and threw it away. Never heard another thing, the whole time we lived there. True story....
I'm not afraid of things like that, but I do avoid supernatural thrillers. Saw Oculus the other day. Not fun.
Basements creep me out too, but I haven't been afraid of anything in them since I was like 10
Last week, I saw something weird materialise out of the bathroom in the basement. You can best believe that I left.
I've been iffy about basements ever since I saw Lucio Fulci's classic House By The Cemetery. As far as I know houses here in Aussie Land don't come with basements. Good one.
You are right to fear the dark. Flesh eating things live in basements, under your bed and in the closet. There is a great documentary called Bogeyman, you should watch. Alone. In the dark.
there is this haunted evil doll
I kept seeing it in my closet for months
I couldn't leave my closet door open
When i laid on my bed my closet door had to remain shut because open I see this doll staring at me with evil eyes
I begged him to leave me alone and leave my house
After a few months he just stopped appearing in my closet and life
Lol I used to think the downstairs of my house was evil it's creepy because nobody ever really stays down their.
You are scared of the dark. LOL its a common fear but more common with children I believe.
I do the exact same thing, only I think Freddy Kruger is going to get me!
Don't know. Never saw basements as more than... basements. I kinda like hanging out in my basement. It's full of cool old stuff and tools. And I can work on a two-stroke generator engine I got from a friend of my grandfathers. (My mum says I should get rid of it, but I plan on putting that thing in a massive RC car! in the future...)
I only dislike the spiders there. Most of the stuff are covered in spider webs. And believe me, those are hard to get rid of!
I do the same lol :D
Once I turn off every light in my room and it's at night, I run down the stairs. I don't imagine anything from movies and stuff but it's just creepy.
it depends, are you and easily spooked person. if you only feel this way in your basement. You might have an evil ghost or demon . I don't know if they truly exists, but you never know.
I live in my bonus room and its huge. Every night wen I shut off my light I have to sprint jump fuckin dolphin dive onto my bed cuz I think aliens and shit are gunna abduct me. All started after watching the fourth kind. Lol and I'm 17 :((
I feel the same way except I'm scared of when I go in the kitchen I think a girl ghost is behind me
I DONT LIKE THAT GIRL GHOST!
people don't believe me of what i saw that popped out of the wall then back in so im keeping it to my self i know what i seen was there just be luck you don't see shit man
my basements evil too. im always scared the guys from saw are gonna come at me or some kinda ghost or something.
I am scared at night that if I step on the floor a hand will come from underneath my bed and grab my leg.
I dont have a basement so idk how you would feel but i get scared when i walk by the hallway & its pitch black.
I live in the basement with the ghost of an old widow. we get along well enough, but there is one issue. If she doesn't like the music on the radio or what I'm watching on tv, she'll tap my shoulder twice. If I don't respond, she'll turn off the radio/tv.
Do you know that i have a monster under my bed and his best friend is the monster which lives in my basement :)
The only reason my basement would be evil if my in-laws would split up, and my mother in law would come live in our basement (for some weird reason).
I once locked myself in the bathroom because I thought there was a crazy person outside
This is my first night at the new house and my room is in the basement. It has multiple light switches and i jave to walk into dark areas to turn them on! I go past 2 dark rooms into a big open room with really high windows then down a narrow hallway past 2 closets and the utility/boiler room. I never thought a finished basement could be so creepy!!! My bedroom is right across the hall from the utility room
You should throw some food down there one night and comeback the next to see if its gone.
My stajrs are evil, when the lights go out the human centipede or the grudge might fall down the stairs, seriously you cant see anything.
Haha! The same thing happens to me!!! I'm always super scared and I try to look normal when i get up stairs do no one us like what's your problem!
I have a feeling this is a pretty normal fear. It's probably related to a very common fear: The fear of the dark.
Most the time if you have a weird feeling someone is in your room at night or hiding in your basement to kill everyone, it's usually true. You should never ignore your gut feelings because they may save you from getting an axe in the forehead or your genitals mutilated by some deranged psychopath who likes to hang them up in his attic and name them things like "Bill" or " Gordy."
I used to hate being in the basement I felt like someone was there watching me
hehe I get scared Evan with the lights on cuz I think dead body's r buried under the floor n when I go up the stairs there gonna come and grab me by the ankles and hit me with there thermos 47 times AND IM SERIOUS FOR REALZ
Often times, the basement has this effect on both kids and adults. It's a natural fear that's either been fine tuned by scary circumstances like scary movies or just because it's the basement. It's often the most unique part of the house in terms of everything lol. It's usually darker, built into the ground, colder in temperature, dirtier; in short, the opposite of your nicer and more comfortable safe haven just a short run up the stairs. haha. Now if you install more lights and windows down there and clean it up and keep it clean, even start adding furniture and a game room down there...the feeling may actually do a complete turn around heh.
Totally cool
My shower room is downstairs and our basement has some small windows, real small, that let the moonlight in and make it even scarier... Yeah, it's normal. After I come out of the shower I run like crazy after turning off the light... And yes, there's only one dim light that is fucked up most of the times and blinks... So it's a lot like a Silent Hill location...
I sleep in the basement and just. To get to sleep I have to have the radio on lol
Me too Faxa but then I also have a fear of slipping down the stairs if I run up them too quickly...
my basement is a dungeon, i wont go down there unless someone goes down with me O_O
I normally do that after I watch a scary movie ! But then I'm fine after a week !
HAHAHA I do the same thing! I always sprint up the stairs if it's dark, whether I'm in a basement or not! I always think something is going to grab my feet :0
ahhaha i get that feeling too! when i go lock the front door then i turn around and run down the hallway to my room lol or when it's night and i need something from the car, i go get it and as i'm going back inside i run cuz i'm scared someone is behind me lol
Scary, if so then whatever you do do not read or watch IT the clown film
i do that a lot of the time i feel like somthing is behind me i run so fast i think i have problems xx
FUCK THE BASEMENT. I WORK AS A HOME HEALTH AIDE AND MY JOB IS TO STAY OVERNIGHT AT MY CLIENTS HOMES (MENTALLY DISABLED) AND WATCH THEM. EVERY NIGHT I HAVE TO GO DOWNSTAIRS TO GET SOMETHING AND THE BACK RIGHT SIDE OF THE BASEMENT ALWAYS FLICKERS. FUCK BASEMENTS. IM JUST GLAD THIS BMENT HAS A LIGHT SWITCH AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS!!
I do the same thing but I see the little girl from scary movie 2 commin for me
Guess whats in my basement beagles and niggers i screw the beagles and make the black people pluck out there pubes and eat them with mayonaise
also if im alone and i cant hear nothing i hear a heart beat faster and faster but i felt my presure the freaky bit is my heart doesnt even beat fast or at all when if scared i stop breathing without knowing it scares me incase i go to sleep and it happens i can watch something and not breath at all like the simpsons so half and hour without breating sometimes i think im already dead
man thats fine i had the problem going to the bathroom with candyman or bloodymary i never looked in the mirror i can nw but i just dont cus its a habbit now but im not scared anymore just remember the happiest moment the happiest song the happiest placce and know your way back up off by heart and shut your eyes youll be fine it dont work on me cus noting id happy to me i live in pain and fear so that helps too to know that if they come after you your truepain and they will be running i experimented it with some random person just looked them in the eye when they came over to me they got in there car and they crashed trying to get out so fast crrazy right you have nothing to fear but fear it self is a lame expresion ou have nothing to but yourself your own actions decides what happens next
i was visiting the rest of my family that live in canada with my actual family (we're irish ;D) and they have like 7 cats and i was down in the basement collecting a laundry basket for my step mom and i was about to pick it up when i heard a box drop from behind me and one of the kittens darted across the room! i think they were purposely trying to scare me.
That is caused by a spirit of fear... Pray about it. It gets worse if u dont deal with it. God does not give a spirit, but of power love and a sound mind.
then when i would be comin downstars i would quickly run as fast as i could ^_^
i think that has happened to every1 here... except only happened to me when i was like under 10... and it wasnt the basement it was from upstaris, becuse all the lights would be off and noone would be up there and i used to watch some horror movies then which made the matter even worse XD
Lol. Stripper pole in my basement and its just as original as any other basement. Concrete floor, concrete walls or whatever they are made of. All gray. I gotta say, the fear was invigorating and I used to indulge in that alone, in sitting in the dark of my basement. Then we decided to indulge some more by adding the toking, scary movies, and personal strip shows lol. I heart basements <3
I've never liked the basement too much rats and animals down there. But i spend a lot of time there
Haha that's siik...lol i dont have a basement..i believe that they are pretty scary!! :S
Australia aged 12
Hahahaha I had the same thing! but I was scared Nosferatu would show up. And my face? priceless.
when i see a area in my house that i bitch black i stair at it wait for a killer to jump out
Lol right when i ho to my basement, I'm afraid that freak from the movie dark ride is gonna eat me, so I run like he'll back upstairs.
Ok so I have this bathroom mirror with crack in it. Whenever I flush the toilet I turn the light off and run like he'll to get out of there. Becuz when I flush the toilet screams like a little girl
The guy from the Shining was in like a huge mansion, with a hedge maze. Probably not where you live. However, wasn't there something about Freddy Kruger being around a basement boiler room or something?
I know I'm not helping, but if your going to be frightened of a horror film figure, at least have it be the right one.
I'm the same too. I don't have a basement thank God, but I have been freaked out by different areas around the places I lived. I once had a phobia of our bathroom - it was an en suite and I could see directly into it from my bed at night, so I had to close the doors, otherwise I couldn't sleep. I think it's normal, but then again, just maybe it's our esp alerting us to strange things beyond explanation... I dunno, I'm skeptical, but I also sit on the fence sometimes. I think maybe we might be picking up on different energy patterns that cause our instincts to kick in and we experience the fight or flight thing. Must be something like that. I still get freaked out sometimes. The last time was in my kids room. I got the heck out of there and the hairs on my neck were bristling. Afterwards I feel like a total dick!
One night, go down there by yourself turn the TV on, shut the lights off, and watch The Shining.
Then turn the TV off and to to sleep there.
It will help you.
LMAO! At night when I go to put my laptop up or whatever, I go in the hallway and the lights are ALL off. It just freaks me out. First I do what I need to do then I RUN my butt to the living room or room.
Im the same way with the main character in halloween with my basement but i got over it when i got over it
Totally normal. It is a common fact that ALL basements are evil. Well, not strictly true; studies suggest that over 98%% of basements consist of atleast 6%% rugs, bric-a-brac, and old ming vases.
I usually sits in complete darkness when im on the toilet and im fine with that, but if i am walking around in the house I always get scared, probably because there is more space there.
i had the same problem but then i started living in the basement so it kinda disepered
This is some funny but true shit!
I always take a second look when I go into and leave the basement.
If it wasnt for that damn washer and dryer I would never go down there unless I was having sex with a hooker and my friends were upstairs passed out after a night of getting lit at the strip clubs haha.
LOL i'm like that too when i watch i horror movie O_O except my bedrooms in the basement >_<
im freaked out by my basement too,i got paranormal activity down there,my papaws old bed is down there (he died of cancer when i was 3 or 4.) and i just dont feel safe.
what you should do is sit in there, let someone lock you up for 5 minutes in the dark.
Look around and it will help.
Sometimes I think my house is haunted when it's late at night and really dark and I haven't taken my medicine yet...

Pardon my French, but, you're an ass. I've seen your other comments. A site like this isn't for people like you.

...i know this post is a little old but i use to have the same problem when i was little, as soon as the light went off i'd run like hell too... its because it's dark and you can't see anything and the basement does feel "paranormal"... so you run...
very normal... you'll get over it trust me... if you haven't already
