My cat died

One of my cats just died tonight. Went downstairs and he was barely breathing. Rushed him to the animal ER and he died on the way. He was fine yesterday. It hurts so bad.

This is awful. I'm so sorry. Just allow yourself to grieve. Don't listen to any emotionally stunted freaks who tell you it isn't normal to grieve the death of a pet. Your cat was part of your family.

I hope you have other people and/or animals around you right now. That will help.

I guess it's normal to die.

    That's so sad :( I'm so sorry.

I hope you have someone you can turn to for comfort.

It does get better. When my dog was put down, I didn't think I'd ever stop crying, but at least hers was a case of old age, not an out of the blue shock like your kitty. It's not easy either way, but the added shock must make it extra hard and stressful :(

Taking care of them doesnt guarantee they won't die.

  • I'm really sorry.... It's 100% normal to grieve after you lose a pet. Even the toughest people I know have trouble keeping composure after losing an animal. They really do become a part of the family.

One of my cats died not too long ago due to a genetic heart failure. Happened all of a sudden one day, had to take them to the animal ER, but there wasn't anything I could do. It was pretty rough, and I still miss them, but I try to keep the good memories in mind.

Give yourself time to grieve. This stuff is hard.

I know man. I raised them from birth. My wife helped get the sack off of all the cats we have except the momma who was a stray. It sucks when theyy die.

Oh my Lord, that's terrible! I'm so sorry for you loss. Is there a chance that kitty could have eaten something toxic, or been bitten by a poisonous spider?

How to stop being sad for the cat.
Step one: buy a new kitten.

I already have like a dozen that I really care for and probably more that eats to food I put out. Im out in the country and I feed all animals that come around. Then they grow on me... i have raccoons that walk up to me

    Is it normal?
Youre asking that as a question?
When a loved one dies, it hurts like hell.
    No matter who you are.
