My cat does this, any particular reason?

My cat sometimes, while lying beside me at night, grabs my hand with both her front hands and kick it rapidly. She also licks and nibbles at the same time. Claws are not always involved.

    It's instinctive in all cats. They are simulating tearing the guts from their prey. Cats are savage beasts. We just don't notice it because we're so much further up the food chain. Not a Chinese joke.

    It's a standard fighting maneuver for cats. Assuming she doesn't actually seem mad, she's just practicing I guess.

    I have seen many cats do this. They are being playful. I have even seen mother cats do this with their kittens.
