My cat sleeps on his back

well this maybe not the weirdest thing on her but my cat regularly sleeps on his back with his feet in the air like he is dead. its super cute but he's chubby so he ends up looking like a beached whale. my question is there anyone out there with a cat that has this strange sleeping habit?

It's a sign that he feels safe and trusting of his environment, seeing as leaving the belly exposed is considered to be a vulnerable position.

Haha that sounds super cute. I'm a sucker for the quirky things cats do.

I have a muscular male cat that sleeps the same way.

My cat sleeps in a guinea pig cage that I bought and never got a guinea pig for. I found him and his sister abandoned at 5 weeks old and had to put them them in it when we were out so they wouldn't get hurt. Now he sleeps in it sprawled out and on his back. I don't have the heart to toss it, he's so peaceful in there.

thats adorable. I have another cat, my fiancee found under his house abandoned at a week old and we kept her in a playpen wrapped in a fleece blanket to keep warm. I occassionally will leave the same blanket out on the floor. she'll try to walk across it to get to where she's going, but every time without fail. She'll step on it, stop, and start kneeding it with her paws and purring. I guess cats can get a sudden rush of nostalgia too

Sometimes cats do that when they're hot, but I suppose your cat might just think it's a comfortable position.
