It's hard for me at work because pretty much all my co workers talk so much. If I'm in a room with one or two of them they just want to mindless talk and if I listen and nob my head they just give me a strange look and walk away. It's worst trying to include myself when they stand in a group and one or two mindlessly talk and the others don't talk just like me but I am the only one who gets a strange look by other co workers.
Ugh I hate people like that. I guess there isn't much to do. Depending on the type of job you do you could wear headphones, with the risk of looking rude, but otherwise just suck it up I guess.
My mother never stops talking and shes really loud and always is telling someone what to do. Whether its try some food.
I'm lucky I'm in the middle, I don't like when people talk too much but don't like when people talk to little BUT I get it. It's just different personalities and usually it's extroverts vs introverts lol. Just try to ignore them who cares if they think it's unusual for you not to talk as much. I was friends with both types chatty Kathys and silent bobs at my last jobs
