My dad got cancer two years ago. my school work has suffered. itn?

My dad got cancer three years ago. I remember not being able to sleep back then, knowing what my parents went through. He was claimed to be cancer free later, but there's always the chance for a re-occurence Is it normal to lose concentration and see your GPA drop after such an incident?

First of all, it's normal. When my mom and dad separated, my grades dropped and I barely passed. I eventually learned to deal with it and finished the next year with all A's.
Second of all, I'm really sorry to hear your dad has cancer. My grandfather died the year before I was born because of cancer.

Yes, it's normal. I have friend with the exact same problem. Her father has lung cancer for a year. Although he is recovering, she is failing all her classes. It's hard to concentrate at school/work when you experience severe problems.

So sorry to hear that. And yes, it's totally normal for this to have affected your school work. I pray that your dad will be okay and stay cancer-free. All the best to you and your family :)

It is completely normal. You had/have things on your mind. Youre not focused, and for a good reason. Most teachers are really understanding about such issues, talk to them. Also talk to a therapist, they will be able to help you calm your fears, & hopefully get your mind focused. Good luck.

Bless you. I'm sorry you're in such pain. Remember, they have made so many advances in cancer treatment that your dad has a good chance of staying well a long time. Hope everything turns out ok.
