My dog eats grass

Whenever I take my dog outside to play, she starts to eat grass. Is this normal?

Both dogs and cats will eat grass at times. There is even a potted plant that vets recommend for cat owners to have in the house. Sometimes it signals a dietary deficiency in the animal, but not being a vet, I can't say more.

Sorry, I'm just having fond memories of my childhood dog eating grass and vomiting. God, I love(d) that dog! She was awesome!

Animals eat grass because it helps them with digestion.

Animal instinct. It aids in digestion. Very normal.

My dog does it, too. Heard they purposely do it to throw up or something. They could also just be hungry, though.
