My dog is my baby...

my pets are my children and i treat them as such. my husband's daughter gets a christmas stocking and so does my dog and cat. my husband's daughter sleeps in a bed and if my babies want to sleep in the bed than so be it. i understand a baby and a puppy are two different creatures and their needs are different, but they both do have needs. my husband says to me "the cat and the dog each have a big bowl of water and a big bowl of food, a fresh litter box and news paper. they will be fine by themselves for three days" i say to him " your two year old daughter knows where the bathroom is and if we left her enough chips, raviolies, and poptarts and three big bottles of water, she would survive alone in the house for 3 days too, but would you really leave her alone for three days!? no, so how can you expect me to be ok with you making me leave my babies alone for 3 dsys!?"

Three days is too long to leave pets alone. Consider boarding them if you don't have anyone who can at least drop by long enough to make sure nobody's broken in or there hasn't been an accident.

Other than that, my dog is my baby too. :) He sleeps in my bed, gets a little stocking at Christmas, and wrapped gifts on his birthday and Christmas.

Yes you're totally normal, animals are gorgeous. I know if I had a cute puppy/kitten (if I had the life sytle for one) I'd be reading him/her stories and bathing him/her everynight and have him/her all cozied up in a little cot. in case you can't tell I am a total animal lover (baby ones in particular) xx

For crying out loud you guys are being so ignorant. She didn't say she would do it. She was simply giving her husband an analogy as ro how she felt for her pets. Don't be so rude to people you do not know.

That's an "analogy" she should not have made. I agree with the people whose posts have been deleted. A lot of men would have kicked her dog freak arse across the room when she said it. Since you agree with her, you should have your dog freak arse kicked across the room, too!

I strongly dislike house cats and dogs. But your right it's crule to leave anything that requires daily attention alone for more then a day.

Hehe. You're like me. My puppy and kitty AND bunny are all my babies.. It's even hard for me to leave them to go check my mail.. That is completly normal. :)

P.S This person "RoastPuppy" is really making me mad with all his animal hatred comments. ):

Animals don't like to be left alone just like humans, your husband is wrong. At the VERY least you should ask a close friend to come and spend an hour a day with them, and thats the VERY least you can do.

You sound a lot like me, lol. My cats are my babies and mean the world to me! I couldn't bare to leave them alone, even though I know they would survive. As for your dog, I don't think it would be wise to leave him/her alone for three days, since dogs need to be taken care of. Cats are more slef-sufficient. As for leaving a two-year-old on their on, no way, lol. I couldn't imagine what the house would look like after that! But I do see your point and I understand how you feel about your pets. My cats were sooooooooooo spoiled at Christmas. I am the only one in my extended family who does not have any children, so this year my family decided to give to my cats, lol. They ended up with so many treats and toys! So cute :) they were super happy. My husband and I don't think we're gonna have kids for at least another 5 years, lol.
