My dog is terrified of cooking?
I have had a Shih Tzu for about six years now (we got him when he was about two). About 2-3 years ago, he suddenly started acting very strange whenever my mom would start cooking anything in a frying pan. He acted extremely nervous and jittery, and would tuck his tail and run downstairs and to the door. For a while, if I let him outside during this time, he would almost run away!
He's been doing this ever since, and for the longest time it seemed like only the sound of a frying pan or deep-fryer would start making him behave so strangely. Now it's gotten to the point where he'll just start acting paranoid around dinnertime, whether any of us are frying anything or not!
He is a rescued dog, but my mom knows for a fact that he was not abused very badly. I really don't know why he would start acting the way he does, since he hasn't always been this way.
Anyone have pets that act strange like this? And is it normal? I'm considering asking our vet about it, since it's gotten worse now...
