My friend doesn't believe in chemicals? iin?

So the other night, I'm talking to my friend and she's not high or drunk but she's telling me how she doesn't believe in chemicals. She says they were invented to make us believe in all these interactions with our bodies to scare us/to make us take more medicine. She doesn't believe in hormones, doesn't believe in carbon dioxide, doesn't believe in any sort of chemical at all. She says pills are just food coloring and chalk or food coloring and water.

IIN? I told her I thought she was nuts and she shouted at me, said I was not opening my eyes, that I believe everything the government tells us, etc. I said it's impossible for them NOT to exist. We have hormones, we have chemicals in our bodies, in the air, etc. She said that's all a conspiracy to make us feel unsafe.

    There's a grain of truth in there: corporations really do use media campaigns to blind us with science and cash in on fear. It's a genuine advertising strategy. That is a conspiracy to make us feel unsafe.

    Your friend clearly isn't right, though. Everything you can see is made of chemicals. Saying there is no such thing as chemicals is saying there's no such thing as anything. What she's done is take a good idea - that corporations don't have our best interests at heart - and run with it in the wrong direction.

    There are a number of lies made up by pharmaceutical companies to push drugs........but that isn't one of them.

    Wow. Um.. Okay.. Here I was thinking that pretty much everyone knew about chemicals and hormones. What does she think about pheromones? *blows out air* Is she in a religious cult, by any chance? For instance, there have been people in Scientology that have stated some extremely bizarre things. Jaden Smith being a fine example. I'm not saying that she is a Scientologist. It is just one of the first things that have come to my mind.

        Some of what he has stated can be directly related to Scientology. For instance, they think that children are perfect, intelligent and pure beings because they don't have Thetans. Everything a child says is correct and thus they usually get their way on everything. Once they become Adults, the spoiling changes. Adults have Thetans. What are Thetans? They are apparently evil aliens that exist inside of all adults. Adults undergo bizarre to ceremonies to get these evil Thetans out.

        Keep in mind that this cult was created by a pedophile Sci-fi writer who once claimed that if he could create a religion that he would be rich.

      Actually, it's possible she is into it but definitely not fully. I've heard her make positive comments about it before and how she once wanted to research it more as it actually "makes sense" to her.

    Nonsense. Also, as weird as it sounds she's probably doing drugs even though she says chemicals don't effect us. I can't believe somebody would believe such nonsense, probably been reading a bunch of conspiracy theories as well
