Hi, my best friend is addicted to cocaine, mdma and before to alcohol. He has long-term depression, but he’s not curing it.
Me and his sister had talk with him, and it looks like he finally does want to change it. He want’s to have detox (not professional) on january for at least one month and see what’s happen. I also told him, that he can get help from therapist online (cause covid).
Is there anything more I can do right now?
It's hard to help someone with mental health problems, talking from experience here. Best thing you can do is be there, listen, cheer him up and give advice what he can do to get better. If someone doesn't want to/isn't ready to improve themselves though it won't do anything, but he'll remember your support when he is and everything you said will be helpful.
I mean I told him, that we should all take a break from any drugs (including weed and alcohol). I know, that he was speaking with his sister (as she was confronting him, that he needs to wake up) and he told her, that he knows, that it was a little too much recently, so he wants to do that too, or at least that's what I heard.
Yeah, but not sure if he can do it. We'll see, if he doesn't, we will have a talk in group of closest people with him and if this doesn't help either, we can say it to his mom (after that, he might look for professional help), but we don't really want to do that.
