my gerbils are really different, every one says they do stuff like aggression but that's not it at all, they look like they hate each other but they don't fight till death, I'm confused, the black one gets jumpy sometimes, but my Grey one don't. they thump to each other lightly and they groom play and sleep with each other but yet they don't seem to like each other Is This Normal??
I had a hamster once. It rolled in its wheel. What else? It let me pick him up. I liked him. I bought him a female hamster, and the male hamster had sex with it and they had baby hamsters. They all died. Eventually the two adult hamsters died too. I had to do stuff like throw them away and it sucked.

I have never had a rodent as a pet but I suspect they are purely opportunistic. Staying warm, clean and entertained is a convenience but it might not go any further than that. Their genders probably also play a role.
I had a friend in high school with a couple of gerbils. Her family went on vacation and didn't leave them enough food or something and when they came home they found one of them eating the other one.

I can just imagine what happened: The gerbil looks up (caught in the act) with its little rodent teeth dripping with blood and the psycho song starts playing: "eeh eeh eeh eeh!" and then the pet owner screams and knocks the gerbils enclosure over, the gerbil gets out and chases the screaming owner and then jumps on her back and eats her! LMAO!
