My girl area smells like vinegar
My girl area has smelled like vinegar for a few days. Should I see the doc?

vagina in the fertile girl should have a monoculture of lactobacillus , the same bacteria that gives yogurt its tangy flavor and aroma. Poon tang. Vinegar like odor would be more associated with the bacterium Corynebacterium and have the odor of ear wax. Unexplained changes in vaginal odor would be one reason to visit a gynecologist. But its unlikely an accurate diagnosis would be obtained by odor alone . A trained Microscopist would have to examine the vaginal juices for clues to arrive at a proper diagnosis.

It's not likely that living cultures of lactobacillus yogurt would survive digestion With a properly functioning digestive system. the same mechanism that kills most all ingested pathogens would also kill ingested lactobacillus in yogurt. a more direct approach would show benefit for women that have taken antibiotics and upset the natural balance of beneficial bacterial flora. I would recommend a woman insert a tampon before starting a course of antibiotic therapy and removing it after a few hours , freezing it in a ziplock bag , and reinserting it a few days after the last tablet to aid in the establishment beneficial bacteria. But to answer your question , yogurt is good for the vagina just dont feed it too much.

She probably baths and adds vinegar, it’s supposed to help with your area and to keep it healthy, or she douches, douches have water and vinegar in it and it can leave your area smelling like vinegar for a couple days. It cleans it out though.
