My girlfriend wants to break up because of my ferret

Just recently my ferret attacked my girlfriends pet vole. No animals were harmed yet she says that if I do not get rid of my ferret which I have had for 4 years now that she is going to break up with me. I do not think this is normal. I do not think this is really fair. I am thinking about just breaking up with her. I have had my beast for longer than her and screw her dumb little vole. All that thing does is fluff all it fur up and hiss at everyone besides her.

        No she is not messed up. You are. Just because you had your pet longer does not mean she cares about hers any less. You should either separate the animals or train them to get along.

        This does not mean you need to get rid of either one. Though really if your ferret went around town killing other peoples pet do you think they would feel any differently? No, not really.

        You have no sense at all and you are incredibly selfish for not caring about anyone else. If a 15 year old human child steals candy from a 5 year human child does that mean no one is accountable for the 15 year old? Since they HAD THE 15 year old child LONGER? You're a fucking idiot. Take responsibility for your animals.

    In the wild ferret's would kill voles so if she gets mad she's the dumb one for not expecting it

    This was probably a long con where your girlfriend has been trying to gain access to your ferrets heart. She doesn't really love you, but has loved your ferret for years. She bought a vole and raised it just so she would have a gift of sacrifice to make your ferret love her. You have been nothing but a tool for her true incentive. She used you, man.

    Human of the female variety here! It is normal for her to be upset (kinda, I mean, why would she not protect her own animal from another animal, especially one that is known to be violent?) but ultimatums are bad juju for any relationship and I'm sure it's likely a façade, as many are.

    Don't feed into her ultimatums because then she'll know they work on you and it'll just be the first of many to come.

      Ferrets are not known to be violent. Only when you put their natural prey in front of them such as rodents. That is a huge misconception that ferrets are vicious animals that bite humans. The ones you have probably heard about that bite were most likely not tamed or handled right and possibly abused so they became mean.

    Lol are you serious? Pets makes people happy not split them out. When I first look at your pole I think you should not throw your pet away just for not breaking up with her, because in my opinion she won't leave you for this reason if she really loves you.
    But then I considered about that maybe she is just testing you, I don't know what else happened to you two, maybe you didn't make her totally trust you. Try to talk to her, make her feel that she's really important to you.

      Yeah I am just mad right now. She is overprotective of her vole. He only let's her hold him and he bite anyone or anything else. The problem with the house pets is a point of discontent right now. I am waiting for things to cool down. I am not getting rid of my ferrets though.

        The point is , you guys need to realize that it's not a problem about animal, it's about you 2. You should noticed that you're a family, the animals...Uh I don't know how to say , just chill out, I don't know how to say, just chill out and be sweet to each other, you can definitely solve this situation. They are your little pets not kind of horrible things.
