Hello everyone. I love to smell cat fur. Does anyone else? I have a cat at home and she usually smells either like perfume or a nice outdoor earthy smell. I like to smell the cat at least once a day. I also invite my friends to smell the cat. The cat loves being smelled.:-)
LOL! I love the smell of my cats fur to! They smell so comforting, like home! That's not too weird, at least not to me.
Cats in general smell good. Their saliva contains an antibacterial element.
There is nothing like snuggling up against my cat when he's been stretched out in sun for an afternoon nap. I love to put my nose into his fur and breathe. The sun seems to bring out the best in a cat's smell. Something herbal that I can't quite describe. It's sweet and clean, though.
He spoons with me every morning and I get to hug him and smell his fur. He's like a little teddy bear who loves to be hugged.
As for Febreeze or anything else sprayed on a Cat ... a big no-no. Those chemicals are NOT intended for consumption. If you love your cat, don't spray her with anything she could lick. That is why Advantage and other flea treatments need to be applied to the base of the skull, so the cat can't lick the area.
Treat your cat well, and smell him or her often!
i disagree i only like the smell of my cat. he smells like sunshine and happiness and home.
Don't worry guys, my boyfriend bitched me out for this too, I haven't done it again. Poor little baby.
But it's okay, he's really healthy and happy. I have kitty shampoo for him now and it smells amazing too.
I'm sorry, but I literally registered and signed up for this specific comment! Your "boyfriend" bitched you out? I am a MAN who lifts weights and listens to metal. A MAN'S MAN. And one of my favorite things on this world is kissing my cat while sniffing his fresh soft fluff at the same time lol... I feel so gay while doing it but I don't care. I am a goddamn man and I love kitties! And if you dont, you are just missing out on life... registration worth it :)

My cats are indoors and they always smell really nice. I don't know where they get there smell from but it's so lovely, I'm addicted..

They almost smell sweaty and dogs don't even sweat. Strange..
god i LOVE cats. i love smelling like a cat and i love the smell of cat food. i think its cause we have so much good memories with cats that we always remember that feeling when we smell it =))
I have three cats 2 female and 1 male, my female cats seem to smell like girls and I can't really make out what my male cat smells like. I kinda like the smell of my calico fluffy female more.
I think it's normal I noticed my cat always has a very sweet smell to her fur (I think it smells like vanilla but my dad says to him it smells like almonds). Other people notice it too and one time my grandma said "Have you been spraying perfume on her? because you shouldn't do that it might be bad for her to lick her fur with perfume on it!" and she wouldn't believe me that my cat just always smells like that! Healthy cats just usually smell nice I guess :)

I loves to sniff my kitteh. Even started a Facebook group - Kitteh Sniffers Not Quite Anonymous because I'm just not going to be able to stop.
My husband didn't grow up with pets, so when I got a kitten he just fell in love. One day I told him to bury his face in our cat's fur and take a big whiff. He looked up at me and said "Do other people know about this?"...lol!! It still cracks me up to this day. We now have 2 cats and he smells them all the time. I also think they smell even better when they're purring.

If the cat keeps herself clean, then she'll just smell like clean, fresh fur. Obviously, a cat with hygiene issues will not smell nice. I love smelling my clean kitty.
Febreeze on his fur doesn't sound like a good idea since he's probably licking a lot of that off and ingesting it:(
But I also love to smell my kitten's fur, it's a subtle scent but it's so clean and fresh smelling. I agree that a dog's fur smell is absolutely nothing like cat fur.
Your cat should smell great without the aid of other scents which could be especially hazardous to his health. Cats don't need to be bathed, nor do they need to be perfumed...bad cat mommy!!
