My mom always hated my dog and thinks he's a kid replacement in my mind, and the reason she doesn't have grandkids. She told me if I don't get rid of him she's not talking to me anymore.
Im sure thats not the only bitchy, controlling thing she has done to you?
Also if you have kids she will find some " problem" with them, or try to control how you raise them.
If i were you id tell her " bye, until you learn to respect my boundaries ".
I would have called her on it and told her it's been real, have a nice life.
Ultimatums and controlling freaks have no place in my life. You should teach her a lesson and ghost her.
Keep your dog. It sounds like you don't need her in your life anyway. XD
What a weird correlation. Tell her that the dog is practice for having a kid. I know my puppy was like having a toddler again. They just grow up much more quickly.

Well I mean clearly your mom is wrong and being dumb. So just tell her that with slightly nicer words and then continue enjoying your dog and not having mf kids.
Julius Caesar said pretty much the same thing, I'm paraphrasing "when Caesar saw the women of a foreign people showering much affection on dogs he reproached them by asking if the women of their country were not used to bearing children".
Tbh, there's probably some truth in what she's saying, but it's you're choice. She's gone way too far in saying she'll never talk to you again over it. So long as you're not entering you're not well into your 30s then your biological clock isn't desperately ticking out of time. She's probably just being impatient, and is certainly, wrongly in my mind, taking a forceful stance on what you should do in this regard.

Whether you ave kids or not is your decision, not hers. But, at least she wants grandchildren. All of my grandparents were completely uninterested, and spent hardly any time with us.
Tell her if you have a kid the government will probably kill her to prevent population growth.
