My mum thinks my sisters psychologist is poisoning her mind

My 19 year old sister has recently started seeing a psychologist and she went for her first visit a few days ago. My mum came over for a visit and has become paranoid because apparently she thinks my sister is acting different around her and doesn't want to talk or hang out with her anymore. She started asking my sister a lot of questions about the psychologist visit and was asking what she said about her to the psychologist.

My sister obviously wasn't comfortable telling her much and tried to brush her off, but now my mum is obsessed and paranoid and thinks the psychologist has somehow poisoned my sisters mind and has turned my sister against her. My mum has a lot of mental issues like bpd and bipolar and has abused both me and my sister in the past as children. I feel like my mum is just scared about the truth that she's a horrible person and mother and the psychologist is helping my sister see that and helping her work through her trauma, but my mum is scared of that happening.

No offense, but I think your mom needs to back the fuck off with all the damn incriminating questions. Every time I tell my mother that I spoke to my sister on the phone my mom will ask me, "what did she say"? It always feels invasive, and kinda inappropriate. She also has the same attitude about whenever I talk to my therapist, or go to confession, and I always say I can't discuss it in depth, but it went well, and I feel better. I'm not a fan of prying from my mother who thinks that she has the right to know about everything.

Your mother probably needs psychiatric help herself. I'm sorry your sister has to put up with that bullshit.

I think your mother is just paranoid, and kinda jealous that your sister is talking to someone who isn't her.

Best thing for your sister is to move out and only talk to the mother on occasions. Those kind of relationships can only be ok if theyre distant. My mom is batshit too.

Yeah from your description that sounds accurate. Sorry to hear that.
