My personal observations

We are blessed to live in the greatest country in the world. The Freedom we enjoy is given to us by brave veterans that have fought for it. My personal observations is a large percentage of the population doesn't realize what a dangerous spot this country is in right now.
Liberals and Socialist are trying to change and destroy the United States. America needs to keep fighting for its freedom before it's stolen away. Six months ago, we had a secure border and a thriving economy. America needs to wake the hell up before America gets flushed down the drain. Just one guys opinion here, if you don't agree with me that's what makes America great. President Trump delivered on promises, Dementia Joe is it a major embarrassment for the United States.
I love healthy discussion so let's keep it friendly and not harassing.
May God bless the USA.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

As a black man trying to make it in this world and getting up there in years, it sounds to me like you have little experience with this world outside of the United States of America.

We're no different than other first world countries. We never really have been, we were just good at pretending otherwise due to a lack of communication.

The major difference with the US and other first world countries is that we have a rather large country and an extremely diverse population to match. For decades upon decades those in the rural regions of the US were isolated away from urban areas. It shouldn't be suprising that people from rural Arkansas think differently than people from Los Angeles, California. Yet people are still going to be frustrated, because social topics are important.

The internet has revealed that the United States is far from united. We're too big of a country to be.

My dad told me when Biden was elected he's an establishment politician and to discount every single thing he said on the campaign. My dad said he's not gonna be no where nearly as radical as he said. Just saw a story they're still seizing property by the border because they still plan on finishing the wall. They even opened back up the "cages" on the border. Also he promised to raise the cap on muslim refugees from 16,000 to 60,000+. He has not raised the cap on it and said "we may have been too ambitious." He also has not cracked down on guns. He is still pulling out of Afghanistan like Trump started. Theres no crazy covid regulations. Outside of shutting down the pipeline and reinstating the Iran deal he hasnt done much.

Its still early in his presidency but so far my dad seems right.

You need to read up on David Chipman, Biden's pick to head up the ATF. It's like putting the Grand Wizard of the KKK in charge of urban housing.

I know all about that little weasel but theres also some interesting things going on in courts that looks really promising for the 2nd amendment. And Biden does not have the votes to do any serious gun control atleast until the midterms.

This is also my first question.

I think in America those words mean very different things to what they mean in the rest of the world.

You need to consult a special dictionary when reading anything political from an American.

For quite a few Americans, "liberal" is synonymous with "socialist" and "communist". In fact, you'll occasionally hear some Americans call someone a "fascist communist". Many Americans know next to nothing about their own system of government, and most know nothing whatsoever about possible alternatives.

The political right in the USA has done an excellent job of brainwashing a lot of Americans into believing that anything other than cut-throat capitalism is socialism. Of course, the people pushing that propaganda are those who benefit most from that system, but many schmucks buy it. Even though they're constantly fucked over by the system, they believe that if they work hard, kiss the right asses and believe in Jesus, they, too, can be a millionaire and fuck over others.

And because hardly any Americans every spend any length of time living outside the country, many of them truly do believe the BS about it being The Greatest Country in the World™.

I think the reason why people say stuff like "fascist communist" is because the countries that claim to be communist (China or the Soviet Union, for example) are/were in the socialist state of communism. Correct me if I'm wrong, but communism starts out as socialism, right? So these countries that everyone knows as "communist" are actually currently socialist.

What you've said actually reminds me of an article I read recently in the New Oxford Review. It was a person's review of a book. The person reviewing claimed that the people who wrote the book did not know what socialism and communism are. The book suggests that the Scandinavian countries are not socialist, and China and the Soviet Union are/were socialist. The person from the article suggests that the Scandinavian countries are indeed socialist, and that China and the USSR were not socialist, since they were communist. It seems to me that the people who wrote the article don't know what the terms mean.

"Democratic Socialism" is not socialism, since it involves private ownership of most business, with the government controlling some business. A socialist society is a society in which the government owns at least a very large of business. A communist society is merely theoretical, since communism requires a complete lack of representative government, which hasn't happened yet.

The words contradict eachother fifty times over. Libertarians are what I would assume to be the “most American American”, but to be Libertarian is to be liberal.

These small-government Republicans are wanting liberal policies but then shout “we hate liberals!” I just. Don’t get it. I don’t think they understand that socialism and communism are two different things either.

I had an American dude fight with me very feverishly because he thought “Russia became communist and that’s was the start of the Cold War” and that “the Soviet Union wasn’t communist because we were allies and we would never ally with communists”

        It’s definitely…. A different thought process… over there
