My turtle. is it normal he doesn't know how to swim?

A little back story first. He is the turtle from the African Galapagos in Asia. I was going to name him either Alexandru or Megadome or marius but decided west texas t-rexas was for the best.

Anyway he has big cage and well cared for. There is water in there but he doesn't use it. What can I do, I told turtles need to swim sometimes. He is really wrinkly and dry. How do I encourage turtle swimming? thanks and sorry for english.

    You're sure he's a turtle and not a tortoise?

Hey, something like 60% of American students can't name the two countries that border their country. Don't be so harsh. lol

Maybe you should try putting it into the water little by little. If he likes it, then good for him. If he doesn't, then maybe you should go find a vet and see what he/she says. There is also a possibility that it is a tortoise, and tortoises don't swim, they are native animals from the desert.

I had a turtle like that. I painted my cock green and used it as an example to teach him how to swim.
