My xbox gamer tag isn't girly

I play halo 3 and COD:MW2 and I never get friended but my friend who is also a girl gets friend requests all the time (usually before a match even starts) and we're both really good. What is it about guys and girl gamers? like guys just have to be her friend cause they know for sure she's a girl? hmm not sure. Thoughts from any guys out there.

"Wow a gamer girl playing Halo and CoD... and she's good too! She's so my type!" - from the minds of majority of the male gamers playing online

lol any girl in an environment that supposedly consists of mostly dudes will get more attention. Human nature, I guess. That's my best guess.

Okay, I'm a gamer chick and yes, I get tons more attention/make more friends than my boyfriend does. I actually met my boyfriend on World of Warcraft as nerdy as that sounds....When guys hear my voice or find out I'm a girl some other way, they usually totally change the way they act towards me. Not all guys, most are cool about it. At first it had a certain novelty, but then it just became annoying and now I don't really let on that I'm a chick; not on purpose anyways.

    • I agree.

My girlfriend and I play Team Fortress 2 and although I am better than her as I taught her how to play, she often gets more invitations to a buddy than I do.

Which is odd because I truly am a better player than her (Shes new and although good in her own right, team player ISN'T in her vocabulary or understandment) she is more respected online than I am.

Until someone sees her picture and the fat jokes start pouring in. My question is, Is everyone else online still living at home with mommy and daddy and still in middle school or am I playing the wrong game?

I am a gamergirl but I made my gamertag non girly on purpose because I wouldn't want the attention. I play the games because I enjoy them-not because I want attention from guys. I hardly get any friend requests but the ones I do get are from people I talk with and get on with.

well every guy wants a girl that they can spend quality time with and if you so happen to like the same things he does, i.e. football, basketball, sports, or in your case video games, then yea they will usually pay more attention to you. Because you stand out to them

are you there to blow some shit up, or to make friends? sounds like your priorities were straight from the get go. I look forward to blowing your face off in COD hahaha.

yeah for the poster of this thread and all you dumb little vaginas that replied. . . . here is a little hint. . . . just because they are called friend requests doesnt mean that you make more friends then ur boyfriend or blah blah blah. . . . these dudes sending you requests are only doing it for one reason. . . . the more chicks you have on ur friends list the better your chances are at getting a free tit pic . . . seriously if you really think any of those random ass guys care about u or your day then you are stupider then those dumb bitches that actually think they play good and arent on xbox for the attention

For one thing, your spelling and grammar is atrocious. I had to read your comment about 3 time before I even got the jist of it. I don't know why I bothered.
And another thing, no one actually said anything about "making friends and then a boyfriend" or whatever, which further proves your stupidity.
One more thing, just because you behave like an asshole online doesn't mean everyone else does. Grow up.

I love being a gamer girl, everyone wants to be my friend and I don't even have to be good at the games. :) This is normal, since there just aren't enough female geeks to go around.

  • I think it is because you are playing a "guy" game instead of a typical "girl" game. If you were playing a stupid casual game on "Big Sea Games" you would be highly repected but unoffically, they hate guys there. It depends on who you are and the type of game your playing.

But from a guys point of view. I play a game that is consisted of mostly males so I pay attention to girl gamers more and I see why guys go for women more as friends.

If this bothers you, you could always change your name or for god's sake, use a microphone.
