Most women who get into this industry are either desperate due to poverty or unstable due to trauma (usually sexual trauma) or mental illness. It's a self harm behaviour for them and a way to attempt to feel in control over their own bodies and sexuality. Usually they only end up getting abused even more and feeling used. To even think about encouraging a 17 year old girl to go down such a road is in itself grooming and disgusting.

She should watch the film Hot Girls Wanted on Netflix, it’s a few years old but shows what happens to 18 year-olds who get groomed by the porn industry.

If she goes into prostitution she's most certainly going to get STD's, which would pretty much eliminate any chance of getting into the porn industry, since porn stars have to be tested for contagious diseases to make sure they aren't getting others sick.
Not to mention how predatory the porn industry is as a whole, or how much those corporations take advantage of porn actors.

I wouldn’t say a thing to anyone under 18 encouraging them to go into porn or prostitution. They are still a minor. Even if they plan on waiting until 18, I’ll at best give them the “you’re an adult so you can do what makes you happy in life, but here are my concerns” speech then. To encourage this in any way before 18? Yuck, no. I’d be worried about legal consequences too.

There's zero reason to become a prostitute.
