No religious beliefs?

So recently, I've realized that I don't fit into any religious category. I used to consider myself atheist, but I don't believe, for certain, that there is no creator or afterlife. I'm not agnostic either because I don't necessarily think that it is impossible for man to know.
I just have no religious beliefs.
The only religious opinion I really have is that the existance of an afterlife would be logical. Without it, it seems that this life would have had no meaning.
Anyone else?
Also, is it normal that I'm using this site in this manner? And not discussing a hatred of socks of a certain color?

I believe that some people are incapable to grasp the idea of a higher power like God or Allah because they are not mentally able to. I AM NOT SAYING THAT YOU ARE MENTALLY ILL!!!! i'm just saying that it is hard for you to grasp that idea and that is totally normal. i am a Christian, but i do not believe every single thing that the many denominations of Christianity live. thus, i am non-denominational. it's totally normal.

  • I know exactly what you mean. I personally would rather not be an atheist but I have not seen anythig that proves religion exist.

Yes, for those who will respond back with preachings and various other trys to "reconvert" me, save it as I do not want to hear it. I look for facts to PROVE ANY religion and I have came up with nothing. If anyone preaches faith, please blow it out of your ass in advance, I need proof and not a copout to switch me back.

I truly WANT to be religious, I just can't. I am an intelligent person and I need facts instead of a pipe dream of silly ideas to make me believe in something I cannot see. I believe in both dark matter (Matter in space that is rather different than anything "KNOWN") and certain theories that have yet to be prove BECAUSE they are based upon something and not some B.S. book or a common set of ideas passed down through the generations.

I just wish there was proof that something else was out there. Here is a link of the Hubble Deep Field Space view. The image shows images so far out into space that the light has taken BILLIONS of years to reach us in some areas.

Quoting the site I submitted on this post "Representing a narrow "keyhole" view stretching to the visible horizon of the universe, the Hubble Deep Field image covers a speck of the sky only about the width of a dime 75 feet away."

Take a quick look and all the galaxies that you see, each has BILLIONS of stars and each STAR may have seperate alien life.

Now, if god exist, is it the same god that controls all of this. The same god who grants care and support (If you believe this as I have lost my faith.) for us still has TIME to concept a "plan" for the beings on star X in galaxy Y. Even if I have faith, I would have to be pretty guilible to belive this.

  • You stated, "The only religious opinion I really have is that the existance of an afterlife would be logical. Without it, it seems that this life would have had no meaning."

I truly hope so. If not, then anything we accomplish in life means nothing in the end. I want to believe and I try to, it is hard, to believe all of this hard work will stay with me and that it will matter. It helps me keep going when I am struggling or reading stories about those who have sex with their dog. I work far harder than I have to so I can have a better life, so I would like to have it stay with me in the end.

Sorry to shit all over everyone's world and all, but I despise religion. It's wrong.

      HOWEVER.
